Description
This trail alternates between doubletrack and singletrack as the figure 8 loops up and around the Table Mountain mesa. Signage is a work in progress as of June 2010 so grab a map at the trailhead kiosk. From the road this grassy mesa looks fairly tame but there are some steep, rocky sections that will challenge even experienced riders. There's even a hidden waterfall near the top of the Mesa Top Trail.

Review: This trail is pretty fun overall, I'm not sure why but it seemed like there was more climbing than there was downhill, and the scenery was pretty blah, that could be due to the time of the year though. The plus side is this trail is very close to Denver.

Review: The singletrack in this network is actually pretty sweet, there's just not that much of it. For a couple of miles, it felt like Fruita but with more highway noise, the stench of the Coors Brewery and a lot fewer rocks. (If the brewery actually smelled like beer, I wouldn't call it "stench" but that's not what you smell wafting from that place). This could actually be a great little trail network if more singletrack is opened/legalized to allow bikers to avoid the dog/hiker/runner-clogged doubletrack.

Review: the climb up the road is worth the back end of this trail, not to busy, couple technical sections, good after work ride

Review: Sweet singletrack. MUCH better than I expected...and a lot more climbing than I expected too. I rode my first fat bike today on this trail and it was perfect. Similar to Green Mountain, but more technical and better views.

Review: The steep access road is a bear, but once you get to the top it's a nice single and double-track ride with good views. Good for after work and relatively easy after the climb up.

Review: I did this trail because I read that it was easy and it is about 15 minutes from my house. Starting from the parking lot on highway 93 I rode the North Table Mountain Loop counter clockwise and started up the steep access road. I had about enough stamina to do ¼ of the climb and ended up walking the bike up. It was okay because I could not get the momentum when I did stop and there were quite a few walkers and runners going up and down. Once at the top I continued south on the Table Mountain Loop until I got to a fork. I took the fork that led even further south to the edge of the Mesa and it gave great views of Golden and the Coors Brewery. A little trek back to the main trail and I was back at it. This trail is great for beginners (which I am) Most parts of the trail are very smooth however there are some rocky sections. They are also doing trail work at the south east corner of the mesa so I had to hike the bike down a little bit. Other than the occasional switch back and the couple rocky sections this trail was great. I got to see a bunch of wildlife and it felt that I was further away from civilization than you actually are. I did the entire Table Mountain Loop in about 1:45 minutes and will definitely be back to explore a bit more.

Review: A really steep climb to start with (well, this 48 year old thinks so). I probably stopped four or five times. My son and I drove about 40 miles just to do this trail and we weren't disappointed. If you're an advanced MTB'er you might be bored with this trail system, but if you're just starting out like us this is a great trail worth a visit. There are plenty of advanced MTB trails in Golden for the more experienced riders. Lots of smooth singletrack with some rocky sections mingled in. And there's plenty of side trails to explore. Even though Golden is just to the west and Wheatridge is just to the east, most of the time you can't see either and you feel like you're more isolated from the cities than you actually are. No shade here, but luckily the June temp was in the 70s. If you're doing the trail in July or August you'd better start early (or later in the evening).

Review: Nice views and a very steep climb up the access road. Otherwise, this a beginner's trail. If you want a real challenge though, about 1/2 way up the trail, there is an advanced single track that wraps around the side of the mountain.

Review: A mix of single/double track starting with a very steep 3/4mi climb up the dirt service road, decent single track down the last couple of miles if you ride it counter-clockwise. Signage is not yet complete and some trails are not marked well at the top, went down a couple of dead-ends. Great workout but only one true technical section.

Review: This trail is perfect for a beginner who wants to push themselves, but not go flying over a cliff. The first trail I rode out here (just moved from NC) was Chimney Gulch. I've a little riding experience but not much and I have to say that if you are a beginner and want a workout, go to North Table Mountain. If you want a technical onslaught that will improve your skills and build your confidence, go to a tougher trail.

Review: Not much more than a place to get a quick fix in. Lots of Double track, little single. The kiosk at the bottom says more trails will be added, so that's a positive. My advice is to wait for them.

Review: Great trail to get some exercise. It is a little confusing on top. The map is ok but until you ride the trail it is hard to visualize where you are in relationship to the marked trails on the map. Good hour and 1/2 ride.

Review: Decent trail mostly just an afternoon workout for me. Nice views of the front range but not much for going though trees or much downhill. The climb is decent which then leads to a loop on the top which is flat. Make sure to watch out for rattle snakes I have seen one every time I have ridden this trail
