Much of this trail was rerouted in early 2013 to be a much more sustainable singletrack trail, and now features some awesome switchbacks up to the top of the ridge. The new trail still crosses the reservoir on the doubletrack and climbs the steep doubletrack on the Bull Mountain side of the reservoir.
This trail serves as one of the main connectors between the Bull Mountain and the Jake Mountain sides of the trail system.

From Atlanta, drive north on Highway 400 to GA 136. Turn left and drive 6.5 miles to GA 9, go right and drive 4.7 miles to GA 52. Turn left (toward Ellijay) and drive 7.5 miles to Grizzles Store (abandoned)on the right. Turn right at the store; there will be a sgin for Nimblewill Baptist Church on the right. Follow the paved road 3.2 miles to Forest Road 28 on your right. turn right and take the first road on the left-FR 83 and drive 1.5 miles to the gravel parking lot on the right(the same parking lot as Bull Mountain). park and pedal 0.3 miles north on FR 83 , a gated roadbed will be on your right directly across from the Bull Mountain Trailhead. Go right around the gate.
