Description: Roughly 7 miles of winding trail along clarks hill lake. No real difficult climbs or technical sections, several great places to stop and take in the scenery, and even go for a swim in the lake. All in all, an awesome trail, probably my favorite in the csra area.

Road the trials yesterday. 1-11-2010. Has dried up quite a bit since the last update. Watch the leaves on Lakeview Loop on the steep/narrow parts. They are quite slippery.

The trail length is more accurately 12 miles.

This is a quick loop to add on if you're feeling ambitious after riding the Lakeview loop. All in all it's more of the same, but generally awesome, enjoyable singletrack!

This trail is pretty flat and quick. Ride it as a 5 mile out and back, or loop it with the road if you would rather.

The 7 mile rating and included pictures are for the Lakeview Trail. The Lakeview trail was a gorgeous ride along the lake, and just a quality piece of singletrack! I loved it! There is also a 2 mile loop trail named "Turkey Ridge" or something of that nature that starts just across the road. That was a fun, quick ride as well. Also, there were a lot of really big trees down all over this trail. It really needs to be cleaned up.

Rode the Beaver Ruin trail which is at the very end near the pool, it is labeled green. This is a 2.5 mile trail that does not loop back. You go in one way and go back the same way however it does end near a archery range with caution signs up which I thought was odd. Anyway, the trail was hard to follow from all the pine needles covering the trail. The log in the picture is still there and not much water in the lake to swim in. All in all nice trail, rode there and back and did not encounter one hiker or biker. There are 2 more trails there one is a 7 mile and the other is a 1.8 at the Long Cane Center (RED BARN).

I rode the Lakeview Loop trail and Turkey Ridge trail at Hickory Knob SP on July 5, 2008. Both trails were in good shape and are set in a beautiful hardwood forest. The Lakeview Loop is a nice 7 mi singletrack trail w/ some nice views of Lake Thurmond. Not a whole lotta climbing here but some nice undulations and good flow. This trail has a couple of drops (2-3') and some whoop-de-doos/big dips that will keep the novice to intermediate rider entertained. After finishing my loop on the LL trail I rode across the street from the Big Red Barn and took a spin on Turkey Ridge. This is a quick 1.8 mi ride but it is full of the fun factor. Not what I would consider a technically challenging trail but just a fun loop to hit as fast as your legs will allow. This trail has the feel of an amusement park ride! I rode it CCW on my first pass and CW on the second... I had the most fun riding CCW. IMHO, both of these trails would be great for the novice to intermediate rider and there are plenty of other trails in the area (U gotta ride FATS!) to warrant a trip to this area of the state. A special thanks to SORBA-CSRA and all the volunteers for making these trails possible!
