Description: Single track network with some simple ups and downs. Lots of Florida scrub riding. Some sand but mostly loose soil ride. New trails being developed around lakes and along river. Nothing really techical. Good after work ride. http://www.airbornemtb.org/Halpatiokee/HalpatiokeeTrails%20oct%202006.jpg

Just started getting into the trail riding gig... The trail was fun. Not overally technical, you could get some decent speed through some of the sections. Fun little drops. A great ride and workout..

Similar Trail: Do not know anything to comapre it to just getting my tires dirty...

Fun and fast...nothing overly technical. About 7-7.5 miles of trails (depending on which forks in the trail you take). Terrain varies; palmetto roots, swamp (especially after a big rain), tight and twisty hard pack...nice ride. Trail builders have done a great job!

Nothing to crazy here. But would be a good place for a novice to learn bike handling skills. A trail map would be a great idea. lots of singletrack here and you can get turned around easy.

If you live in the area it is a good place to log some miles. Mostly flat, but tight with lots of twists and turns, losts of Palmetto's and the roots of the Palmetto's crossing over sections of the trail. Good place to get a beginner used to moving around on Mountain Bike with out the potential for paying too big a penalty for making mistakes. Plenty of wildlife including Deer and Armordillo's. The trails builders have been adding new sections making this trail more challenging.

I had been raining the day/night before, yet the trails were still very good. It's a fairly easy single track that take about one hr to complete. A few very little drops with a few logs here and there, but nothing very hard. If I am in the area again, I'll give it another shot. Once inside, it's easy to find your way around as the trails were pretty well marked.

A trail to get a good workout, but nothing really technical. After a day of rain this place floods out easily. All in all it is not a bad trail, and the bike club down their has done a good job upkeeping and building additional trails.

Similar Trail: Too many to post, but Alafia & Santos are the bomb!

Just to Clarify the park is on the south side of Kanner highway (sr 76) on lost river road. This is a great trail for cross country riders. Not that exciting for people that like the black diamond or technical riding but a good trail to get a work out on.

Similar Trail: Jonathon Dickinson has very similiar terrain

I am a newbee to the sport of MTB and the Halpatiokee trail was the 4th trail I have tried out. It was fun, definitely scenic, and there are quite a few different sections to discover. I recommend bringing along a fishing pole.

It's not so easy to you know you are there. You can park at Pavillion #7 in the back, east end. Ride around the triangular shaped retention area and look for a big metal gate. There's singletrack which bypasses it to the right. Enter there, ride to the first 'road' hang a right and look for the tagged trail to your left. It's pretty easy to follow the tags now. We are not supposed to ride the old river trail which is hiking only. We are constantly inquiring about and pushing for a dozen or so directional signs to be placed at critic***eresections. Time takes time, so we will have them, probably later than sooner. In the meantime, more surveyor's tape can be found along the route, and also tiny orange flags in the ground in the open spaces.
