Trail Description
About this trail
This trail is tough. It's not fun. If you are in excellent shape and enjoy a lot of climbing and tight turns where you almost fall down on your bike, then maybe you will enjoy it. There are maybe 5 sections where you can move under the power of momentum for more than 3 or 4 seconds and you had better watch out on those parts. There always seems to be a tree trunk, two trees about a foot apart or a nasty turn that goes up, to the left and behind while also climbing an off camber hill at the end of any fast spot. Don't expect more than an 8 MPH average, and that's if you're in excellent shape and are considered a mountain bike guru by all of your friends.

Not for beginners, families or people lacking strength or stamina. The average weekend warrior will probably not like this trail much either.

Having said all that, if you want to gain skills on your bike and beat yourself into shape, this is an excellent trail.

Review: This is a great trail! Lots of great climbs, whoop de whoo's and tight spaces to fit through. The trail drains and drys quickly. These folks have done a kick ass job. Love riding here!

Review: I took a weekend trip to Jackson for business and could afford the pleasure of bringing my bike along for riding during some downtime. I thought I would give some of the local trails a shot and I started here (seeing as there are only two in the area). Bottom Line: This trail needs some attention ASAP. It's a good run through the woods with some short steep uphills and a few good downhills; even one that has you riding down a cement storm runoff for a few feet. As soon as I got out to the park I noticed something peculiar...I was the ONLY one out there. There is a playground, multiple baseball fields and a nice bmx track, but I was the only soul out there the entire time. I just thought it was strange as how I'm used to seeing other riders or walkers where ever I go. Anyway, this trail would have been a blast, but it's obvious that there has been some lapse in the maintenance. Thick pine straw covered the trail everywhere which made it (1) difficult to follow the trail and (2) pretty nerve racking in corners. Other spots were eroded and couple of bridges were in shabby condition; almost thought I was going to go through one. I could only bear to ride for approx 4 miles before I got tired of riding through this barren and overgrown trail that had me constantly eating spider webs (you can tell no one goes there often). To sum it up: This trail used to and still has some awesome potential, but unless they (The Jackson Dirty Spokes Club @ Bicycle City; supposed keepers to this trail) give this place some love and clean it up a bit, I wouldn't advise making the drive.

Similar Trail: just go ride through some uncut forest

Review: Definitely a work out. Short steep hills. Little/no 'rollers'. Always going up or down. Relatively no flat sections. I'm 53 and can ride the whole trail but I have a lot of woods dirt bike riding experience that helps a lot. Very, very good workout! Trails seemed very well 'groomed' to me.

Review: I agree that this trail is not a lot of fun. You will spend half of your time climbing with no reward. The trail is relatively well groomed. There are tons of corners to practice maintaining your speed. I also encountered several downhill corners that I typically havenít seen at other trails in the area. There are a few large dips in one section close to the end. I was gassed by the time I got there but was glad to finally mix it up a little. Overall this is a respectable but demanding trail.

Review: I think this trail is awesome. I am a novice and I didn't have any trouble except for breathing. Great for building cardio. I like the bike wash station and the BMX track.

Review: This trail is NOTHING like the description!!! It is MUCH better groomed. There are probably around 7 or so miles of trails and they are maintained by the Jackson Spokes. The trails are tight and windy. There really isn't that much space in the park, but the designers did a great job of doubling back the trail with a number of switchbacks. Yet, they still were able to allow riders to open up a bit and get some momentum. There are a few dips and a couple of man-mades but not much. Mostly just fun windy singletrack. I was here on a VERY sunny Friday afternoon and not a soul. A great trail for the area considering not much around! Oh, and don't forget to play on the BMX track next to the softball field!

Review: nice trail...lots of switchbacks..tight turns on climbs etc. Too short for my taste, but not alot of people on trail. I'm used to Vail colo mountain singletracks so my judgement might be a little off. I will do this trail several more times before I leave Tenn.
