Description: Trail starts by the picnic area to the left of the parking lot. Mostly singletrack with a section of fire road. This trail reminds me of Conyers because it is not too technical but if you try to ride it fast it will kill you! This will be the site for the Macon Madness GAP race for 2000!

TRAIL REVIEWS   review this trail

Don't waste your time. There are trees still down everywhere and carried my bike a good portion. Nothing is marked and you can tell the trail is never ridden because there are pine needles 8 " deep all along the trail. If we had a group to work on it- would be very nice trail to ride.

I was a little worried about riding here since the majority of the previous reviews all mention that is in need maintenance. Luckily, it looks like they have had a few trail parties here and they trail was in great shape. A GPS or a person familiar with the trails would be a good idea for first time riders as there are a lot of loops that shoot off. In a few places you have to ride through the grass near the baseball fields and pick up the trail in another place. Surprising climbs for a trail in middle GA and some fun sections headed downhill. Rugged enough to keep you one your toes and a couple of sandy turns will keep your head on a swivel. Check out the BMX track in the back before you go. Fun stuff.

The trail is a little over grown in places, and not marked very well. But does have potential, I spoke with the director out at the park and she said that if enough people would verify that they would start to use the trails again, she would have the clean up finished. The trail isn't bad at all, a few nasty little washed out spots that at speed are a bit of fun. I had a blast the other day when I rode it. It's mostly single track with sandy corners, the course isn't marked well but if you study it a few times and stay in the outside tracks it's a nice relaxing ride. I raced myself around the place and it was a challenge in some areas. Over all, needs some work but if you are a more experienced rider, attack the trails and it's a blast.* Review edited 2/25/2011

CLEANED UP FROM AFTER THE TORNADOS IN 2008. STILL HAS A FEW TREES ACROSS THE TRAIL IN PLACES. NEEDS A GOOD CLEANUP DONE, COULD BE A LOT BETTER TRAIL. IF ANYONE IS GOING TO DO ONE I WILL HELP.

Fun trail. Good mix varied lengths of climbing and descending. Sand on parts of trail is an interesting challenge as well. From reading older reviews, it would seem that this trail has gotten a makeover as the trail was in excellent shape.

Fun and quick. My first stop on my visit to the Macon trails. Good warm-up for some of the longer trails. Fast declines and hot as hell. It can be completed in under 25 min.

You can tell that this was once a great trail system - twists and turns, fast descents, and varied terrain. Sadly the trails here are in need of some TLC, particularly with fallen trees and overgrown brush. I also saw some kids on four wheelers riding the trails despite the signs prohibiting motor vehicles. Too bad, this place could be a great option for the east side.

Sand filled singletrack is what defines this trail. A good ride with lots of elevation change, tight turns and rolling hills. Not as well maintained as some trails in the area but still an excellent ride. Bring water in the summer as wind is nonexistence on this trail and the humidity can best be defined as spirit crushing, bring water.

13 Jan 2008 Trail needs some attention and lack ofmaintance makes ithard to follow parts of the trail that arenot blocked by brush and overgrowth. This trail could be a vary good ride.
