Mountain Biking Dick's Creek Road

***   Add a review
#285 of 404 mountain bike trails in Georgia
#8,594 in the world

This road runs for 5 miles one-way from the parking lot all the way up to the upper gate. From the first parking lot you'll find, the road is paved for a little while before eventually turning to gravel and passing Dick's Creek Falls. The road then passes the turn offs to Waters Creek and Crow Mountain and then passes a gate, which is normally open. Soon the climbing starts in earnest, eventually ending at a gate high in the mountains. There are a lot of trails and old road grades that junction at this gate, but if you venture beyond this point, be wary: you're right next to the wilderness area, and while some of the spurs from here may stay in the national forest (at least for a little ways) others lead into the Blood Mountain Wilderness and are illegal for bikes.
