Description: I practically learned how to mountain bike on these trails. Sean, a pal from work, likes to torture co-ops by taking them riding here. We have all shed a little blood and went home with some bumps and bruises, but I'm the only one that has stuck with the life-threatening sport. At first I would bust on logs about six inches in diameter. Then it was on to harder things-literally. Once I was coming down this hill and caught a wet bridge at the wrong angle. My back tire slid out from under me, I slammed down on the bridge splitting a couple of planks and all that momentum knocked the wind out of me. There is a lot of fun single track on this trail, but you can also ride around the park on the paved roads. We usually start with a quick two to three miles of twisty and curvy single track and spit out onto the paved roads that circle the park. Then we ride more technical single track and exit the park to ride through a neighborhood towards Lake Brandt. That was the Wednesday ritual...and the Thursday ritual was always Sean exaggerating my near death experiences.

These trails don't have anything as far as technical riding. I would not consider riding them again but for the mini downhill section, that was a blast. I spent about an hour playing around on that. I am only rating this trail a 2 because of the skills area.

First of all just bring your jumping bike. Don't even ride the trails there not keep up with at all and they have a bunch of leaves on them because not many people care about the trail part of park. Just go to the jumps there a lot more fun and they don't require nearly as much pedaling.

Similar Trail: Finch park, My trails are better than the country park trails i have table tops kickers and im working on bridges there about a quarter mile long but there way more fun than any other trails around.

This trail was very short. It was incredibly bumpy and very confusing at times. I ended up on a road and had to jump the trail onto another trail....long story. Also, no one maintains this trail. there are tons of leaves and some of the uphills are hard because of the leaves. Overall this trail was for beginners and was nt very fun. GO TO THE FREERIDE SECTION!!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!

While rooty in places, this trail is a lot of fun. It's not to technical, with a few small gully places and log crossings, but it's a fun ride, fast and flowing in a lot of places. The short climbs might be tough to a weak rider or beginner because of the roots, but don't let that discourage you!

This is where I began and to where I always return. It has quite a variety and is in general a very pleasant place to be (apparently for deer as well). As others have noted, it is simple to switch to the paved Country Park road at several spots or take the connector to the Guilford Battlefield loop if you need asphalt. I get a decent workout every time. The frequent ups and downs rule out extended goofing off except for the farthest section from SafetyTown, which loops around the outside of the fenced-in dog run, being mostly fast and easy. Unlike many GSO area trails, this one is a complete circuit, so you can ride singletrack the whole time without backtracking until you arrive at your starting point. This is a very popular trail, so one usually meets a few others, but I've not seen it too crowded to suit me on weekday evenings.

This is an awesome trail. I highly recommend it to anyone located in or around Greensboro. This was the first trail I rode when I got my bike and I definitely got hung up quite a few times. There are a lot of short rooty climbs and just as many fast flowing downhill sections. It is very maze-like, but I think that is a benefit because it can feel like a different trail every time depending on the route you take.

Country park is where I first started riding, Very fun, although the trails get kind of confusing, the way the wind in and out and cross each other multiple times. One cool thing is the Zone which is the dirt jump park, right near the baseball fields, although in the pictures, the log rides aren't there anymore but I'm sure if you wanted, could make one your self, becareful though, I had a bad fall off of one of the triples once and I havn't built up the courage to try to ride it and actually jump the jumps again, but riding over them is still really fun. The switchbacks are always fun, ride all the way down hill and then all the way back up, 3 times, it gets tiring, but if you have the endurance go for it. There are alot of steep long climbs but it's worth getting to the top for the fast downhill on the way backdown including a really cool berm that you can absolutely fly around. I hear they are reopening the trail that is on the inside of the greenway, which has a real technical downhill, and it rides right along the water, word is that they are adding some logovers made out of all the fallen trees on the trail, it should be fun if it ever gets opened back up.

Tried it on the fully rigid bike today and had a very good time. I imagine it would be even better on the full suspension bike. This trail had lots of options and I agree that I like the keep to the right method for most enjoyment. The whole area is great, with the dirt jump park right there and tennis, baseball, pond, cemetery, military park. There is a good feel to the place. The trails themselves were clean, wore well, and were fast and fun and I will look forward to riding them again.

Similar Trail: It is similar to Tanglewood.

This trail has a surprising amount of elevation changes and climbs that challenge over rooty and rocky sections. A little bit of everything and the host course for the State Games biking race the past few years. Country Park is a great work out and easy to get to. Highly recommended.

Excellent place to ride. Great mix of smooth trail, roots, loose rocks, good climbs, nice obstacles and fast downhills. Great for all levels of riders. Good aerobic and technical workout. Nice to pair up with Owl's Roost with the Greenway connector.

This place has some awesome singletrack. The variety of terrain is amazing: small gravel, sand, dirt. The climbs are short but steady, and the descents flow. If you want to really test your handling skills, try thi place. It can be hard to follow as there are no signs inside. I just stayed to the right the first time in and found it to be great. The second time I tried the left, and although it was fun, it didn't have the same feel.

This trail is a fun trail for all levels of riders. It's a great place if you're taking out new riders, not as aggressive as Owl's Roost so they are more comfortable. Yet more seasoned riders can turn this into some fast lap rides.

Good workout trail. Lots of ups and downs but nothing too tough. Just the right amount of everything.

Awesome training trail. It has everything in moderation. Hills, log jumps, speed, technical sections, mud, etc. Next to Owls roost my favorite in the area. Highly recommended.

Similar Trail: Owls Roost. Hobby Park
