Description
Built with a Pepsi Refresh Project grant by the Ripon College MTB team this is a quality trail. Only one mile long but ride the loop ten or twelve times and you will feel it in the morning. The trail is built on the side of a hill and is split about 75/25 between hard woods and tall prairie grass. Very well designed with a couple relatively nice climbs (for the flat landscape in North East Wisconsin), a good controlled descent with whoops and small jumps, a section of technical switchbacks and some nice flowy singletrack in between. The trail rides very well, fast and smooth with only a few rocky sections. Drys really nicely after a rain due to it being constructed on a hillside.

Ride the trails clockwise on even days and counter clockwise on odd. It is much faster on the odd days but a better workout on the even. The trail is open to hikers and runners as well so watch out on some of the corners. There are running trails that cross the singletrack which aren't always obvious as you're bombing down the trail. Also, during the College's fall mountain bike season, the trail is closed to public use from approximately 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (and as posted) to allow the Red Hawks cycling team to train.

Review: Fun trail with some nice variety, climbs and fast downhills. Singletrack seems a bit longer than 1 mile but either way you'd have to put some laps in to get a workout. There are about 4 miles of multiuse packed gravel trails that you can hit for some additional distance and a really nice climb. Worth checking out despite the lack of singeltrack mileage.* Review edited 7/28/2012
