Description: This is a vast network of trails . The only problem is all the trails have the same number 717. Also there can be a lot of motor cycle traffic. Some of the dirt is loose pea greavel but most is good dirt that has been packed by the Motor cycles. I know there are more entrances than the trout creek entrance but I have never been to them.

I would highly recommend not riding this on a MTB, you will probably get run over by a dirt bike or atv.. I ride dirt bikes and mtb's and would never take my mtb here.. Its sketchy enough on a dirt bike b/c its not directional...

Others may know this trial as the Mule Creek Trail. There is actually a route that entails a 30 minute downhill with 3 or 4 creek crossings. You end up coming out near the Lions Camp, which is a mile north of the Shining Mountain golf course in Woodland Park. You can return back to WP via the bike path along 67 to make it a nice 15 mile (or so) loop. It's actually my favorite ride.

Not sure why anyone would take a bicycle on this trail. It's great for the motos (two and four wheeled), but the ever-present and sometimes bottomless gravel makes for tough going. The technical bits are few and far apart and the cross-country aspect just isn't very interesting. There's much better singletrack and scenery to be had in the area.

Similar Trail: Rampart Reservoir is a much better option
