Mountain Biking Forest City Trail

****   Add a review
#22 of 169 mountain bike trails in Missouri
#1,566 in the world

This is a new trail built by volunteers and Route 66 bike shop. Counter clockwise or clockwise either way it's pretty easy. There are a few areas (creek crossings) that may be challenging for beginners but a slightly experienced rider will have no issues with this trail. Lots of rocks and not much elevation gain.

Update 6/17/14:

For 2014 Forest City is upgraded with an additional 1.5 miles of trail and a new downhill-only pump/flow trail. Updated maps are available at the trailhead most of the time, and also can be easily downloaded from route66bicycles.com/get/shreddy.

Getting there
From I44 take exit 195 to St. James. Take Jefferson St south to Hwy KK (first light). Go left on Hwy KK for 2 miles and look for small brown sign for trailhead on right. Take dirt road on right over RR tracks and you'll see the parking for the trailhead.
