Mountain Biking Oil Creek State Park

***   Add a review
#131 of 295 mountain bike trails in Pennsylvania
#5,465 in the world

the trails i've ridden out there are some of the most technical trails i've ever ridden especially the one that goes to the waterfall. the one that runs the ridge on the south is killer, it's fast hard packed dirt and used by some light vehicles.

most of the trails are hard packed old trails or a combo of animal or vehicle trails

Getting there
oil creek park is north of oil city on rt 8 , it is also on many maps how to get there so if my directions aren't good then try getting a map. once you get to Oil City ( lots of places to eat ) ( and july is oil heratige week very busy for a smal town ) you want to drive north on rt 8 driving towards titusville, you will get about 10 miles or so out of oil city ( i think it's about that ) and you'll be going through rouseville ( pennsoil refinnery area, and you'll hit a light towards the end of that refinnery area, go straight as i doubt you'll know the back way through plumber, so once you go straight it will take you over a hill and at the bottom there is a set of railroad tracks, keep going a lil bit further and you'll see a twisty curvy road coming out of the woods and a sign for oil creek park to your right, take that, it drive through country twisty roa**o watch out for deer and other critters. once you get down the road you'll come to a 4 way and you'll also see a bridge, go towards the bridge and there is a main office for the park and plenty of parking, there is also a OC & T train that runs through the historical area were oil was first found in our country, but also a paved bike trail. I think most of you want the wooded trails so, if you pretty much ride down any of the roads in the area, you will find a large amount of single track and some double track trails. some are kinda extreme and some are kinda technical and yet others are kinda tame. i do believe the office has some maps of these trails?
