First Giant Bicycle Store Opens in October

Giant Bicycles is opening a store in Santa Maria, CA in October called Cycle Star that will carry 90% Giant and Giant distributed bikes and accessories. This is the first store of its kind for Giant, though the company currently partners with 80 “Breakaway” and “Podium” stores that feature enhanced Giant marketing and product selection.
I’m interested to see how the Giant Store turns out, especially after my disappointment with the Trek Concept Store execution. Mountain biking is a lifestyle but to walk into most shops you’d think you were coming in for slacks and dress socks. To see the possibilities just look at what Nike has done with Niketown or Apple with their retail stores. Come on Giant, don’t let us down!
