Crack for MTB trade and more Alaska mountain biking

Florida man arrested for trading his purple mountain bike for crack cocaine, while Alaskan endurance racers compete in the frozen Iditarod wilderness.

A couple of mountain bike stories to start off your week:

How many crack rocks is your bike worth to you?

For George N. Magalhaes the answer is easy: four. The Florida man was arrested for attempting to trade his purple mountain bike for four rocks of crack cocaine. I dunno, I would want to get at least 10 rocks for my bike…

Alaska MTB endurance racing

I wrote about snow bike racing last week and mentioned that some mountain bikers are competing in the Iditarod this week. The Anchorage Daily News has a great article on one of this year’s competitors – 55 year-old Rocky Reifenstuhl. The article mentions that Rocky has ridden more miles across the frozen Alaskan wilderness than any other mountain biker so I wonder how his mileage compares to Jill? I say they’re both hard core (if not a little crazy).
