Description fairly diverse, good fun for a moderate ride, trials are in great shape
Review: Took my wife there and we had a blast. She is not a Mountain Biker and has only been once before but she made it through fine. I do not think it is rated properly as advanced and should be intermediate. But is is fun ride and a good workout!
Review: This trail has been growing in excitement since I last rode it a few years back. The trail has an excellent blend of hills, turns, and overall fun. There are some sand patches in existence, but nothing to fear about. If you have been looking for a trail that will give you speed and some technicality, then this is a perfect trail to try.
Review: This is one bad ass trail. had a good number of turns and jumps and downhills. But the only sick thing is this trail is very very sandy. you need some real good stamina to complete it. But it also has some short cuts when you can avoid some inner loops and cut down the miles. on the whole it is good trail for intermediate and experts. But not advised for beginners.
Review: i had a lot of fun here! we camped out in the rustic area and rode again in the morning, if you're having confusion finding the place, so did we. you have to take Gun Lake Rd. all the way east, away from the camping area, until you find a road to turn left on. if you grab a map you'll see that this road takes you straight to the MTB staging area/trailheads and rustic camping area. trails are very well marked, lots of fun!
Review: so yeah i drove out to were the trailhead was supposed to be and couldn't find it i was really looking forward to riding this trail after reading the reviews so coule someone help me out
Review: Great trail. Nice mix of terrain. There are sections where you can crank and keep up pretty good speed, but lots of sections with rocks, roots, washouts, sand, and sand ... did I mention the sand. There are some tough climbs and some pretty technical areas. I wish I lived closer to this trail, but it's worth the drive.
Review: A lot has changed in 12+ years. The trail is extremely sandy, which always is at the bottom of a hill. There are some washed out sections that will toss you side to side. You also have to contend with many rock gardens and roots. Surprises everywhere. This trail will test your lungs and legs, and reaction time. You will suffer from pucker factor!
Similar Trail: Fort Custer, but Custer is better groomed
Review: Amazing trail! Very technical, smooooth in some parts, and real rocking and rooty in others. Great trail. Very hilly, but nothing a singlespeed can't handle!
Similar Trail: Brown County Trail system in Indiana
Review: Nice technical trail with lots of sand after the heavy rains. Lots and lots of evil sand. Good for a biker with some expirience before riding this trail.
Review: Great trail system.not very technical but alot of fun to ride.Camping at site is great but rustic (pit toilets,no water). The camping sites are more secluded unlike fort custer.
Review: roughly 14 miles of sweet singletrack. There is a 2 mile warm up loop. Trail head located in the deep lake unit of Yankee Springs as of 2010 $24 annual or $6 daily A good rider should plan on 45 min to 1 hr There are a few climbs between 5-8 mile and a few others towards the end. Expect some sand and loose rocks at sections. When finished you can take a short drive to K-zoo and stop in at Bells Brewery for a few jars!
Review: I rode this trail for four days straight last summer and loved it. It's ALL tight, fun, fast rolling singletrack - great Midwestern riding. Be advised though - your bike's nooks and crannies with collect more sand than they would over an extended stay in Moab so get out the gear brush and degreaser when you're done.
Better than Ft. Custer.
Review: This is my favorite SW Michigan singletrack XC trail . . . except when it has been really dry as the trails can get very sandy. On the flipside, it's a great trail that drains well when everywhere else is too wet. The 13 mile loop is fun, challenging and in a beautiful mature forest setting. The route is marked well with short cuts indicated. Advanced rider sections are well marked. The trailhead is on the east side of Yankee Springs SRA at the Deep Lake Campground entrance.
Review: Great intermediate-advanced trail, 13 miles entire loop, great terrain, bits of everything, but be careful. Trail is at Deep Lake Campground, just south of MiddleVille. Yankee Springs Rec Area follow the signs. 6$ daily pass in the summer
