Description: The Larry and Rona Dykes trail is a 3.5-4 mile multi-use walking/jogging/biking trail which encircles the perimeter of the park. The two-way trail varies from single path in the open fields to doubletrack through the woods. There are a few options from the main trail which hook back up to the main. Dothan has pretty slim-pickins as far as bike trails, this trail would be good for just straight-out big ring laps for building stamina or for new riders just getting the feel for riding on dirt. While you can really cruise on this trail since it's hard-packed and flat, beware of the walkers and joggers out there. There is also a BMX track at the park, but it is only open for practice or races: http://www.wiregrassbmx.com/ . Perfect trail for the beginner getting a feel for a new bike on dirt. Not very technical at all. Look out for runners and walkers. Start out here and then go to Troy State University Trail for more technical ride.
