Description: The latest edition to the Kerr Scott Reservoir trails(Dark Mountain, "OVT" Overmountain Victory Trail, Fish Dam Creek) located on the SW side of the reservoir and connected to the rest of the trails by the "OVT". The Warrior Creek trails are part of the campground area of the same name...they run along the contours of the reservoir and transition into where the upper Yadkin River feeds the lake. This is some of the most scenic and challenging riding in the trail complex.

Warrior Creek, along with Dark Mountain and OVT, is getting designated as an Epic by the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) joining a distinguished and elite group of trails that are found on many mountain bikers' bucket lists. If you haven't been to the Kerr Scott Reservoir trails you are missing one of the best trail systems in the Southeast. Check it out.

Awesome ride!! Its a roller coaster thats free! You even have a chain to pull you to the top of some heart pumping climbs! Once to the top hang of, it's time to go. The g's to can pull around some of these berms are killer. There's a lot of everything you want in a mountain bike trail!! Now my favorite ride!

Awesome downhills, with burms over 10' tall. The climbs are pretty steep but worth it. I logged 1,950 feet of elevation gain. This has been moved to the top of my favorites list.

Perfect balance of challenging Roots, Rocks, up/down hills, gullies, length (12 miles and growing), all in the woods. Trails stays well maintained. Great paved parking lot. One of my favorite trails and I ride many.

This has become my favorite trail in NC. It has plenty of climbing, a couple of babyhead rock gardens and also offers some sweet bermed sweeping decents! A great 13+ mile loop! Bring plenty of water. * Review edited 3/10/2011

This is one of the finest trails in the southeast. It has everything you want in a trail and I concur with the other reviewers it is for the more advanced rider. The variety of the terrain and thought that went into the design and construction is exceptional and the trail flows like few other. There are definitely areas that will test you and the climbs are tough. An additional section is going to open in early 2011.

Rode this yesterday on Halloween and it was a great beast of a trail. I would avoid this if you are not in shape or advanced rider because it WILL bite you. All in all a fantastic trail with high speed berms, 3 or so rock gardens, cliff riding and many crazy little bridges. Also, the signs out there are not right and can get you lost... hint, hint. When you come to the end of the WC loop you will ride into an intersection. Make sure you turn to the LEFT, that will take you back to the parking lot. The distance is also not 9.5 miles, closer to 12 miles so bring water and food so you don't bonk. One of the best I have rode in a while.

I absolutely love this trail! The speed and flow, along with the big bermed turns, are great. I'm not an advanced rider, but I still love it. I'm finally learning to just keep pedaling hard and fast over the rocks. That was the hardest part of the trail for me the first time. If you haven't mountain biked a lot and/or if you are scared at all, ride Dark Mountain. Otherwise, this trail is the one to hit.

This is my prime trail. I really love it. It has everything, and it is good lengthy ride. Looking for something to kick your adrenalin in, and want a ride built for speed and fantastic jumps? Then this is it. Leave this kiddies at home say a prayer and go for it.

Fantastic trail - one of the best in the southeast. It has some of everything, Rock gardens, bridges, tons of berms, roller coaster downhills, and long enough to really give you a good workout. Tougher than the Overmountain Victory trail - Longer and more technical. A 9.5 mile loop, with new sections and upgrades constantly under construction - The trail crew that maintains the Wilkesboro trails is phenomenal. I notice some new tweaks, repairs or additions just about every time I ride. A much tougher workout than the adjacent OVT, but a great challenge and an extremely fun trail. Worth making a trip to if you can. * Review edited 3/10/2011

Great trail! Berms, berms, berms! A few nice banked climbed. Avoid Warrior Creek Loop the first few days after a rain, it stays much wetter than Dark Mountain and the OVT. This will be a phenomenal trail once it's been broken in a bit more, so do your part and ride it!

The Warrior Creek Loop, when complete, will completely encircle the campground, following the folds of the lake. The Headwaters Loop will be built in 2009, with the Marley's Ford Loop to follow in 2010.
