Description
Other than sandy single track, there are log crossings, fire trails with lots of switchbacks and some good rooty conditions to keep you on your toes. Worth riding if you are on the coast. You can get about 10 miles in with very little repeated trail. Most of it can be ridden fast. There isn't any hassle with riding this trail at any time.

Review: I am a student at UNCW and have just started riding. From pictures I've seen and posts I've read it has seemed to change a lot over the years but there is still tons of singletrack trails. I have seen a few students out working on some dirt jumps and there are a few other jumps through out. The "front" section is really fun and fast and could almost be a pump track. A lot of the human made stuff has fallen apart or been removed. There is a wood bridge crossing a creek that probably won't hold up much longer but there is a real bridge a bit further up. Not a lot of people on it ever and walkers/runners are good about moving over. VERY MUDDY WHEN WET! Yes it's pretty flat but it's the coast what do you expect? There are visitor lots through out the school although I don't they are super close to the "entrance" although you can pick the trails up anywhere really.

Review: I tried to go there yesterday, but couldn't find a parking lot that didn't require tags. What am I missing?

Review: There are some okay trails here. Much of the system has been built on or changed by the University. Do Blue Clay instead.

Review: Just to update about directions to this trail. I-40 East takes you straight into Wilmington. Turn left at Randall Drive (you'll see a Hardees on your left and a Bank of America on the far right corner) This is the first entrance to UNC-Wilmington coming into Wilmington from I-40. Anyway after turning left on Randall drive slowly 25 mph ...you pass a large water tower on your right. Keep going untuil the road turns right. Right there turn left into the parking area near the woods. You will see the beginning or a beginning of the trail near the far corner. It's beautiful until UNCW decides to bulldoze it somemore. I've seen foxes, deer, crow and more. There's a large pond in the middle. Enjoy it for now. There's an exit at Hooker road which is nice bike ride to the Wrightsville Beach.

Review: A very fun set of trails if riden at full speed. Nice setting and sculptured trails.

Similar Trail: Many small trails near New Hanover Hospital. Just go out and look for them.

Review: I've ridden UNC-W trails almost every day for five years.Fun,smooth singletrack and about six miles of trail which you'll be lucky to not double up on.Fun logs, the locals who build the trails keep it tight and twisty.Check with Chain Reaction has 411 on some new area stuff as well.Don't drive here just to ride, you'll get bored quick. Lots o' ladies on campus and at the beach though.

Similar Trail: If NC is where you're going, try Uhwarre NF, Tsali and Nantahala. These rides are worth the trip
