Description: This trail is a lot of fun. It is an out and back with 4 separate loops off of the out and back section. The trail was machine cut by Trails Unlimited and the NFS and is incredibly smooth, virtually no roots and most of the trail is over hard-pack.
This is a very well laid out contour line trail with a great mix of elevation change. Nothing too long or steep but it keeps the blood and pedals pumping. Total length for the entire trail including the 4 loops off the trail is 14.5 miles. You can pick and choose different loops to make it shorter or longer. Trail is well marked with signs, mileage post and colored trail blazes for the different loops.

Great trails for beginners or people new to mountain biking. Would love to see some obstacles (log rides, jumps, wooden) put in on this trail. Other than that, trail is pretty sweet.

Fun and flowy trail. Climbs aren't harsh but has some decently long flowing sections. Trail is well maintained thanks to the local guys in the "COGS" group.

I caught this trail on a beautiful late September day with all the wild flowers in bloom. The trail is text book designed and executed. A real pleasure to ride. The back loops were some of the prettiest I have seen. It reminded me of Tsali if it had been properly built.

Drove down from NC for a weekend at Lake Martin. Decided to hit this trail since it was in the proximity of Talladega Ntl Forest. Talked to a local rider before hitting the trail who was very friendly and informed me about the trail. I was pleasantly suprised at how much fun this trail was. It's not a technical ride. The description of the trail is dead on. Hardly any roots which was great for someone from NC who's accustomed to a semi-rough ride. About +70% of the trail is ridge line riding which was really fun with some nice dropoff's if you're not careful. This trail is fast and has a great flow, it's fast up and down riding. It kept the heart rate up from pumping the pedals to get some serious speed on these hills. Did all the off-shoots probably totaled 15 miles of riding. My hats off to the locals who made this trail happen. I would recommend for anyone looking for a great 1.5 hours of really fun riding.

Incredibly fast and smooth singletrack around the lake. If you're looking for technical trails - even a little bit - this isn't the place for you. Great flow, a real gem! Almost 1000 feet of climbing (according to my GPS) but it doesn't feel like it at all.

Nice, smooth hard packed trail. Just about no roots. Nice rolling curvy trails with just enough fast sections. One fire road section with lake views, scenic.

Sylaward is one of the nicest, smoothest trails I have riden and look forward to returning. Unfortunately the day we road Sylaward it was wet and thawing from the cold weather of January and the the trail was super soft. Each pedal stroke was difficult and exhausting. We made it 5 miles and turned back. I can't wait to try it when the trail has had time to dry . I'm sure it will be fast.
