Description: This trail by Lake Jordan in Wetumpka is a new addition to mountain biking in ALabama. The trail is almost completely singletrack with some tight technical sections along with some steep climbs and decents. It is especially beautiful in the spring when the wild azaleas are blooming along the lake. Mile markers and direction arrows are present on the trail. Maps of trail are available at trailhead.

Great trail in central Alabama. The flow of this place reminds me of Van Michael at Blankets Creek. This place is a hidden gem! Smooth flowy singletrack with only small roots and rocks. Has a little bit of everything from fire roads, technical climbing, short downhills, freeride, singletrack. You never get bored except in some of the longer straight sections of trail. Also there are some wooden ladders, step down and a short downhill run with 2 small jumps. I love this trail and give whoever did the layout a 2 thumbs up. Too bad this place is 30 minutes from Montgomery, but its better than nothing. Also, no restrooms here; just water and some changing rooms.

Old school hand built single track. Very well done and a fun ride. Views of lake are very nice. I liked the way it kept bringing youback to the lake. I didn't ride the entire trail, just the 7 mile red loop. I noticed some very challenging man made skinnies and stuctures out on the long loop.

Similar Trail: West Point Georgia similar elevation changes and flow.

I try to ride here at least once a week, and it never gets old. There's some decent climbs, a few nice downhills, and everything else flows really well. There are several pre-made loops ranging from 1 mile - 12 miles, and you can piece together your own loops to create almost any distance ride you want. They keep maps at the trailhead, and it is marked very well. This is probably more of an intermediate trail, but it was the first trail that I ever rode, so as long as you're careful, even a beginner can have fun out here. My favorite ride so far.

Fast, fun and relatively challenging ride with tight flowing turns and some roots and rocks. TOLA (Trail Of Legends Association) maintains the trail in excellent condition. They have actually installed jumps and log rides which make this trail very enjoyable for more technical riders.

One of the better trails in Alabama. You get some great views of Lake Jordan. The Zipper is the definitely my favorite section of the trail. Also, if you follow the black trail it is a little bit longer totaling out close to 11 miles. Keep an eye out for hikers.

You can see a lot of work was put into building this trail. It's very well marked and one can choose multiple different mileages. Roots and sand are very common in this part of the country so don't be dissuaded by complaints of such. Very fast with good flow, but no real vertical component. It's the only set of trails around so I highly recommend you try them.

Similar Trail: It's the only one around Montgomery, AL

This trail is very technical with a massive amount of roots and sharp rocks. Watch out for some weird blind drops in some places that can cause you to go ass over elbows. Overall a very fun trail but with enough technical challenges to make it not as fun as I had hoped.

Researching this trail to possibly ride in the near future. I appreciate the "Trail of Legends" link which was provided in the last trail review. Came across this feature on the referenced website...I've seen this done once before and it is VERY cool! Check it out: http://www.attackonswayback.com/pages/virtual_tour/Sback/index.html

This is one of the best trails I've ridden in Alabama. Different than Oak Mountain, not quite as difficult overall, but challenging non-the-less. The last time I rode swayback was in Feb, '06. My sister-in-law lives in Wetumpka, and my sister lived in Millbrook. Anytime I visited either, I made a point of going to ride swayback. I can't say enough about this trail. Good climbs, scenic, technical, rocky in places, good downhills. I think the whole ride is up to 11 or 12 miles long now in a loop. This place and Blankets Creek in Woodstock, Ga are very similar, except Swaybacks hills are a little longer, and a little rockier than most of Blankets.

Similar Trail: Blankets Creek in woodstock, GA. Tsali.
