Description: I rode the trail starting from the bathrooms, the trail ended back at the parking lot behind the playground. A few things if note, it cost me three dollars to park my car in the lot (honor system) so bring cash, and I heard that the trail is only open March through November. Don't know if that is true. The trail is a multi-use trail, but is clearly built for Mountain bikers. The area has a quite few creek/stream crossings some were fun to bike/jump across others I was more comfortable walking. Most of the trail is smooth fast rolling single-track with few rocks, but lots of roots. This would be a great trail for beginners to push themselves to the intermediate level because of some quick, but technical climbs and descents and a good place for an intermediate biker to have alot of fun and go fast. There are definetly some advanced moves out there to do though to with some technical stream crossings on 2" X 12" boards and a fun log pile to 12' plank balancing beam (located about half of the way through the trail. The white blazes are the main trail but anytime the trail forks it seemed to fork into a more technical route which was more fun and then looped back to the main track. If any locals have better info please add. Will definetly be back.

I have to say this trail is sweet! I have been to a few trails in the area I this is my 2nd favorite trail! This trail has a lot to throw at you with it being roots, skinny bridges over creeks to tight trails. I had a blast, I got there around 6:30 and got on the trail and it started to get dark. Once I got to the open part of the trail it was getting pretty dark and had a hard time seeing the last mile of the trail. Fun stuff though. Had a blast going again real soon.

Decided to make the drive from Upper Marlboro and try this track out.... it was highly disappointing in my opinion. There are way to many exposed roots on the trail even though it is wide and clearly marked. A full suspension bike would probably have no problem, and no complaints but on a hard tail its a bit of a pain. Gear selection is key. Mostly uphill it seems. Track took 48min to complete 7.48 miles, I'm a beginner though.

Nice loop, all singletrack except for 1/2 mile over the dam. Stay's fairly close to the lake the whole way, a few technical sections, 1 fairly difficult creek crossing. I did this 4 times last year, look forward to many more this year..

The trail was good fun. The directions are good; however, my Garmin sent me to a different "St. Mary's River Park". It wasn't far away, but the MTB trail is actually "St. Mary's Lake Loop Trail." The trail is quite wide, mostly level, packed sand with the typical east coast exposed roots. I thought it was mostly a beginner-level trail with bits of intermediate sprinkled here and there. Overall, it was fast with good flow...there is some sand, so watch the turns. It would be a great trail to get folks introduced to mountain biking. Good for families.

This trail is fairly difficult. Steep inclines and steep drops. 20" trail. I live real close so this is my favorite trail. Great wildlife. Plus this trail is not at all crowded. In the fall the tail is covered in colors and the snow riding is great.

This trail is fun, there are many deviations, some tangent off into private property/dead ends and some re-connect with the main loop. Does not get very muddy, even the day after a storm there does not seem to be much muddy spots. There are alot of roots and stream crossings, many have little bridges though. The downhills can get fast, watchout for the occasional sand spots on corners. This loop has not got old yet and definately keeps my interest. It is a 7.5 mile loop that starts/stops at the main parking lot.
