Fun trail, not to long or overly challenging, but still enjoyable if youre in the area. A few fun stunts and obstacles to keep you interested. Seems to stay pretty wet in parts even after a few days without rain which makes it a little more interesting as well. Worth checking out if its not too long of a drive.

It's in decent condition, but not an overall exciting trail.

Good trail. Easy to get to, hard to see. Look for the sign after parking lots. Technical features have shown up and are fun to ride. Tight turns and tight trees make it interesting. Great cardio workout. Done in an hour or so.

I found this trail two years ago when I started MTBing and I must admit it was not ridable then. A group of locals have brought this trail back to life and I am stoked! It is the closest trail to me and now I’m riding there several times each week. For me, this trail has improved my technical skills, climbing ability, and over all riding. I’m confused on a couple posts down as the trail is easy to navigate especially with the increased traffic recently. Some TTFs have popped up out there and I understand more are coming soon. If you’ve never been there I strongly recommend it. Park in the gravel lot and enter the woods to the left of the kiosk. Enjoy….. there are plenty of rocks, roots, short climbs and tight areas to keep you on your toes.

Great local trail at just over four miles. Two laps will work me out more that one full lap at Lake Norman. The trail is tighter and more technical than Lake Norman State Park which is the closest trail. Thanks to all the trail gnomes that have worked hard to bring back this local gem to life.

Similar Trail: Hobby Park

Someone please send me a signal. I went here it was bad. No one uses it, so it's not maintained. You also need a GPS system to locate it. My opinion, don't spend the gas or time.

The local bike shop and a group of volunteers have been working hard to restore this trail and get some riders using it. The group has been working on several reroutes that keep you in the woods and out of the fields as well as clearing the trail which has resulted in a very rideable trail. I have been riding this trail several times a week and it is in great shape. The corridors are clear and overall the trail is in good shape. This trail is around 3.5 miles of singletrack that flows well. There are tight areas, technical aspects, climbs, down hills and plenty of other characteristics that make this trail a lot of fun to ride. As mentioned below there is some trash resurfacing because a portion of the trail was built on an old landfill. The refuse is minimum and seen in spots not the entire trail. If you are passing through or live in the area give this one a try. It appears that others are taking notice and it's seeing some frequent traffic. New pictures added.

Work has begun (fall 2008) to improve the trail. If you are driving by, stop and check it out. The trail is being re-routed to make it easier to follow and an effort is being made to avoid some of the confusing open areas.

First Flight Bikes' weekly night ride every Thursday to Signal Hill - either meet at First Flight Bike shop 6p or the Signal Hill trailhead 6:15p, weather permitting. Signal Hill appears to be getting the focus of some TLC. Boy Scouts have updated the markers/signs out on the trail. First Flight Bikes is redirecting their trailwork efforts during Fall 2007 to devote attention to improving Signal Hill. Planned are: Trail corridor clean-up and maintenance, two minor re-routes, looking at a few places to add more trail, and possibly addition of pump track! This used to be a fun "cool down" ride when returning from the mtns OR a decent after work ride for the locals. Last Sunday I hti it with a friend and its in SAD SHAPE - it looks like train maintenance has been nonexistent lately. AVOID. Used to be a 5 - only for locals!

Trail is all but completely gone. Doesn\'t look to have been ridden in months. City has went in and bush-hogged some of the areas where trails used to be. What was left was so scattered, grown up and out of use that you couldn\'t tell what was there. Could be a great trail again, if it\'s still allowed.
