I love these trails!! FAST and some what chalenging....love the lake loop as well. Roller coaster loop is more difficult to me...busted on the last maybe 10ft drop...still thrilling though!!! O n the lake loop ran into a hiker and dog not on a leash so watch out for loose dogs with the agenda to make you crash. haha

Great trail! My son & I routinely make the drive from Columbia, SC to ride this awesome trail! I love the "roller coaster" section & all the log crossings, rocks, berms & man-made features on this fun & flowly singletrack!

I absolutely love this trail. Amazing design, maintained, very fast and very fun. good mix of length and technicality.

Beautiful single speed trails, the best way to ride these in my opinion. They are relatively smooth with short ups and downs.

Wow this is a great trail system. For the most part very fast and a lot of fun. It has many different features. There are three trails. Big loop, Roller Coaster, and lake loop. The Roller coaster was very intense big (to me) drops and it really was like a roller coaster only better b/c you are on a bike. The big loop was fast and fun, not to technical but a few technical features thrown in. There are a few rock gardens that are tricky. There were quite a few people there riding Sunday when I rode but it was not to bad. Overall one of the best trails I have ridden. I am jealous of my friend Chris who lives 5 minutes from these trails.

Not very much fun!!! Very easy and a lot of people. I must be missing something cause a lot of people love this trail. It is still a must ride it is just not what I am looking for in a trail. I do have to say that the trail is in great shape good job to the trail people. I don't care how fast you ride it, it is still very easy!!!

this trail is by far the best ive ridden in charlotte so far. Heading to white water tomorrow so we will see. There are some fast bermed in and outs and an wide trail to get out if its too much to handle (which its not but its there just in case) I ride single tracks all over the country and this one by far is my favorite to date.

Fast singletrack with just the right amount of jumps and technical difficulty! Multiple loops to choose from as well. If you don't know how to ride berms coming in - you will when you leave. Easily one of the best trails in Charlotte.

Tons of fun, lots of climbs, not too many drops but the rollercoaster loop is both fun and challenging. Had a great time and it is an awesome ride overall.

Outstanding! Tarheel Trailblazers you did it again! Found very noticeable improvements to the rollercoaster section which kept the adrenaline and the blood pumping, also some strategically position dirt ramps along the trail. Great flow, great terrain! WWC is a "walk in the park". If you haven't ridden Sherman, get to it!

Rollercoaster section was great. Post roller-coaster became monotonous.

This is literally my backyard trail, as I live only a few hundred feet from the park. I ride it a few times a week, and also hike and do some trail running on the singletrack. The MTB experience at Sherman Branch is fantastic. There have been recent TTF additions, and minor trail re-routings. It just keeps getting better! There are a lot of log-crossings, rock gardens, banked turns, off-camber trail, and other natural features that make this a great place to ride. Some of the trail is probably beginner level, much of it is intermediate level. Average speeds can be quite high. There are no real hard, prolonged climbs, yet it's a really good cardio-workout riding this trail. Be aware the place gets very busy on weekends, and some evenings. There is usually NOT a lot of pedestrian traffic on the trail, but keep your head up on the lake loop, just in case, since there are about 1,000 homes just a few hundred feet from it. Can't recommend this trail highly enough. See http://www.shermanbranch.com for more info!

awsome fast and tricky trail, it's not marked that well, but it's grooved to the point you can find your way around. just remember on the lake loop, right after you see the lake you come up on a fork in the trail that is not marked, go to the left.......but the trail is awsome hardly no climbs, just flowing, flowing and jumps and barms, rollers.....this would be single speed country here.........but i think the trail is perfect. sweet single track.....this trail you can turn your mind off and just get in the zone and flow.

Another excellent trail from the Tarheel Trailblazers. Great flow in all loops. Started my ride yesterday with the Roller Coaster, on to the Main Loop, and then the Lake Loop. I had so much fun I had to go back to the Roller Coaster for a 2nd run. This trail is attractive because of the great planning and maintenance, lack of walkers/dogs, and lack of beginners. I've ridden this trail wide open many times and have rarely had to pass. All trails are so well laid out that you rarely see another rider even though they are out there.

This trail is a good time, and can be enjoyed by many skill levels. If you consider yourself a good rider, this trail is definitely the place to bring your single speed and work on tempo. If you just started mountain biking, the vast majority of this trail is rideable, with a few rocks and drops that you may want to just walk over. All in all, the TTB have made fantastic use of the terrain to produce one of the most all around fun trails in the area. Highly recommended.

Trail length has been increased to about 10.7 miles with the introduction of the "Roller Coaster" and "Big Lake" loops. Finishing touches of some technical additions, signage, and repair/corrections continue to take place and are mentioned regularly on http://www.tarheeltrailblazers.com . There have been some issues of ATV's/Motorized vehicles trespassing on these new trails which have been built and designated for bike and foot traffic only - the County "Park Watch" patrols have asked if anyone sees any motorized vehicles on the trails, please call 980-722-2203 to report the location and details to them as soon as possible.

Current total ascent is 390ft for one lap of the existing 6.5 mile loop. Fun local singletrack...trail just constructed so lines are still getting worn in and trail surface is a bit tacky in areas, two small sections stay wet and will probably need to be armored or bridged. This may all change with the onset of warmer weather and longer days. Good flow in many areas, some you just have to pedal it out! Plenty of extras such as bridges, berms, log jams, rock gardens, and places to catch air.
