Description
Ravenshoe is flat with almost no uphills. It consists of a network of very technical single tracks with various stunts and jumps to entertain advanced riders. The loction has a map in the parking lot and consists of a square forest boardered by McCowan Road on the east, Ravenshoe road on the north, Farmland on the west and Manor Ridge Trail on the south. It is next to impossible to get lost. The exit to the main parking lot is marked on all trails. There is a donation box at the trail head. Be sure to leave a couple of dollars for the folks building the trails.

Review: Lots of variety and initially well marked (with map). Later there are coloured blazes on trees, but no more maps, so you are best to bring a copy. I rode in the fall with many of the trails covered in leaves. This made navigation tricky on a few occaisions. Over two hours, you can get a good 17KM of riding in. The soil sucks up rain very well too.

Review: After riding Ravenshoe regularly over the past few months I've become less and less of a fan. I just find it too disjointed to allow for a good long steady ride with good flow. Whoever cut/built skunk loop needs a lesson in trail building.... Very frustrating to try and ride it with 90 deg turns through narrow trees barely wide enough for standard handle bars, constant up/down with tons of root obstacles and turns. It just doesnt allow you to maintain any flow or momentum necessary to ride all the obstacles on this trail. Still a decent place to ride if your close but not worth a long drive if your in the vicinity of any of the bigger trail systems close to the GTA.

Review: Pleasantly surprised! Plenty of nice twisty singletrack with minimal elevation changes. Great place to introduce beginners to mtbing.

Review: WOW is all I can say about Ravenshoe! I am new to mountain biking and Ravenshoe was a great start. I don't have my own mountain bike so I had to rent one from Exclusive Sport Rentals (www.SportRentals.ca) located in Vaughan. I ended up renting the Norco Storm 6.1 which has a front suspension, and I must admit, in order to fully enjoy the trails at Ravenshoe, a bike with dual-suspension is a must! Big meany has lots of step-up roots and logs so a dual-suspension would help a lot. But overall I was very happy with Ravenshoe in Newmarket.

Review: Great trails, lots of tight turns through close trees. Little elevation change but lots of step-up roots and logs in the more technical trails (big meany and skunk loop) while the easier trials have some really nice, fast curvy sections with good flow. The people on and around this trail were really friendly.

Review: Great place to ride. Nice slow, twisty, challenging technical sections and lots of fast flowy singletrack riding sections. The best of both worlds! Rolling hills add to the fun and keep you working hard. Best route is to follow Jack's Trail (marked in orange and black arrows from the parking area and through the woods) around all the trails.

Review: Ravenshoe is very close to New Market and Toronto. Far enough from the city to enjoy. 90% of the track is rolling single track flows well from one section to the next with a few very tight & twisty rooted singles there. Bring bug repellant if your visiting after a rain fall. Great thing about Ravenshoe is that you can ride the trails for a good two hours or so without too much strain; quick up and down hills with some spots of sand. The sections are named and there are a few must try...Stinky Skunk and Stumpy are a must...* Review edited 9/19/2008
