The Rapaki Track climbs 300 metres over 4km on a very well graded, packed gravel four wheel drive trail that won't stretch your chain. It is the best track from Christchurch city up to Summit Road which runs the length of the Port Hills and is the baseline for numerous bike trails. Hence it's an important link trail. It's very popular with runners and dog walkers as well as mountain bikers.
