Lots of tight singletrack with plenty of short drops and climbs on hard packed rooty terrain , not too bad for Down East. Located aboard Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C. Take Hwy 70 to Havelock and look for Hwy 101 and the main gate to the base (non DOD personnel must obtain a visitors pass at gate). Stay on the main road in the base past the flight line, through the second traffic light after the flight line, take the first left into the Shady Grove Picnic area. Follow the dirt road to the end to a covered picnic pavilion, the trail loops all around through the area.
