Description
From the parking lot continue on Buffalo Creed Road, which is a fire road that

can be used by cars, so be careful on the way down. Morrison is the second

trailhead on the left that you will come to. Ride up Morrison Creek single track

to the junction of Shinglemill Creek. Quick twisty singletrack down Shinglemill

will bring you back to Buffalo Creek Road. From here you can head back to the

car or do one of the longer loops.

Review: I parked at Shinglemill TH and rode down Shinglemill to get to my loop on the other side of Buff Creek, then climbed Morrison Creek back to the car at the end of the day. I found both trails pleasant grade and surface (maybe a bit sandy, more than other trails in the system) with great views and not so many riders...

Review: Used these two trails to link back up to 1776 (Colorado Trail) and was part of a 20mi ride up here....very nice addition. Nothing too technical or gut-busting, just a great trail with some killer views and easily accessed.

Review: A good, fun little warmup on the way to other stuff. Riding up Morrison and down Shinglemill is the way to go. The Shinglemill downhill is so loose that it will make the rest of the trail network actually feel tacky, so a good initiation to the sand and gravel of Buffalo Creek.

Review: This is a great loop that is kind of disconnected from Buffalo Creek Proper as it is on the opposite side of the access road. Don't let that deter you, though, as this is a great ride with a seriously long climb and descent! Most of the trail traverses through a burned out area so it is very exposed. While the climb is good, the downhill leaves much to be desired due to the loose gravel in the corners and the lack of berms to keep you in the terms like Sandy Wash. But still, it's fun!

Review: This is probably the best early season trail in Buffalo Creek because there's just a few trees and it seems to dry out very quickly; of course this means it's also very hot in the summer. I agree with the route given (Morrison Creek up and Shinglemill down), but I would also include Shinglemill south all the way to the Colorado Trail, at a minimum. It's not really technical, but it's a decent climb that really pays off with a fast roller coaster downhill. Maybe I'm weird, but the burn area makes for great desert-like trail conditions and unique scenery.

Similar Trail: Sandy Wash feels almost identical
