Description: Unofficial trail (i.e., no land manager). Tight and twisty singletrack through forest and fields. Large network that is unmarked. Can get turned around easily. Relatively young trail that will get better with age, unless it's lost to suburban development. Best ridden with a local. There is a forum on the Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists website. I rode this trail in the late summer of 2011. The extreme North-Eastern loop was quite overgrown and didn't feel like it was ridden much. Some portions of the trail North of the railroad tracks are marked with No Trespassing signs but a hiker I spoke with told me that she used the trails daily with no problems. The entrance road off of McKnight Road to the parking lot is now paved. There is a large event facility with toilets and a covered picnic area located there as well. The easiest way to find the singletrack is to ride the paved path North from the parking lot then cross the East/West paved path into the woods. The trail closely parralels that path. Most of the trail is fun and tight but not really well maintained. I crossed one wooden bridge that needed repair. All in all it is a nice intermediate ride and well used West of the lake and South of the railroad tracks. On my next ride I will avoid the loop Northeast of Mcknight Lake.

Rode this again over Memorial Weekend. Great tacky, tight, and technical singletrack. There is some controversy about land ownership on one loop, and it is currently posted. See forums on MORC website for details.
