Fun trail suitable for all riders. Lots of short-cuts so any length ride can be made, This also make the trail a little confusing, but by the end of the second lap had it all figured out. Trail is one way so expert level riders can hammer if they want. Several 1-2 foot drops, and big roots to give the suspension a work out. Did 3rd lap in 50 min and broke a spoke.

Great trail. Fast And challenging, and slow and easy at parts, some great drops and log jumps. Fun for any level of skill!

My wife and I love this trail. The green trail is very easy and very fast for those who love speed. The only complaint we have so far is the trails all seem to interconnect one another and they are not very well marked. We found ourselves on the advanced trail more than once because the trails are not marked at the split.

Rode for first time on 7/26/09. Great trail, nice lake scenery and fast. Was not very technical. Directions on this site were horrible. Took us forever to find it. Better way is to take I-65N to Vietnam Vets to Rt 109 (right). Next exit get off and go straight thru light and you are on Lock 4. Take until road deadends. Park near silo.

Lock 4 was my first mountain bike ride! Its a great trail for beginners and veterans. Not very challenging but a good short ride.Be careful by the lake you could fall. There are some old trails that are fun to explore.Try to make the jumps at the beginning of the trail!

Great trail... I rode it this past weekend and loved it. It has some technical aspects for those who look for them and can still be ridden by beginners. Great scenery and lots of fun!

I agree with the other postings. Great trail for everyone. You can make it more challenging by going fast. Or, if you're like me, it's challenging enough going at an average pace. Great scenery, too. Maybe, it could stand to have a few bigger uphill parts to get my burn on, but we're in TN. So, I'll take what I can get. And watch the spider webs too!!!

I rented a Specialized Epic from Bikers Choice and rode Lock 4. It is a smooth rolling one way singletrack with some beatiful hillside views of Old Hickory Lake. The trail was hard, dry and fast. It was pretty well marked although there were some forks in the trail that were not. I had a map to help me out. Nothing very difficult, I would rate it intermediate, some decent up and down grades. I rode the loop twice and after an hour and a half of riding, the last couple of uphills were a good challenge. All in all, an exhillerating, smooth flowing scenic ride(a white tailed deer scampered of the trail right in front of me) that would please all but the hardcore, technical starved or downhill riders.

Great trail for speed. Lots of fun. Don't be the first rider down the trail in the morning(spiders).

Simply rolling singletrack without many technical features.

This is a great trail for a good work-out or just a lot of speed. Humidity is a real problem. NEver be the first one down the trail, spiders will get you.

This is a nice trail. Single and double track. Nice jump area hidden in the middle. The trail goes down by the lake for a nice short ride. Be careful as it dips towards the lake and you could fall and get wet.

Trail very fast. Rolling hills. Public land so no fees, can be ridden in any weather, never closed. Advanced side loops very fun; ineresting when muddy.

Not a bad little trail not to difficult but it does stay muddy. Very fun when ridden fast

A very nicely maintained, somewhat hard to navigate trail network. This area of TN does not have mountains, so expect no epic climbs. Not much distance to cover the entire network, something like 12 miles, but a very nice place to ride and get a workout. Trails are fast.
