Review: Awesome and fast. Experienced my first major wreck -- wasn't quite ready for the big jump out of the gates. Seriously great trip; this is going to be a go-to for sure. Wet in low spots, but to be expected, as it's close to the lake. Really well-maintained.

Review: I rode the main loop of the trail today. This is a very well built trail that has great flow and speed as well as good short powerful climbs and decents. It can stay muddy or wet for a while after rain in a couple sections. Marked pretty well with numbered waypoints. Go ride this thing!

Review: First trail I hit since my move to Nashville, TN. Great system. Easily navigable, with good directional signs (which are needed because you can carry some speed and 2-way traffic is treacherous at times). Enough for everyone, fast flowing single track, good downhill/climb, and technical spots. Great trail can't wait to head back to hit more of it.

Review: Just realized that I failed to mention that this trail is prone to water logging in the winter months since it's so close to the lake, especially the short sections on the opposite side of the road from the parking lot. Please do us a favor and stay off the trail when it's been raining.

Review: Smoothest, fastest trail system in Middle Tennessee. Very popular and well maintained by the local riders. Stick with the directional indicators because some of the regulars go very fast and going the wrong way could cause a nasty pile up.

Review: Brought bike with me on business and Lock 4 was the trail. I had never ridden the trail and it was a cool ride. The technical sections of the trail were in areas where you had enough speed to pick a line and get through them and the frequency of the technical sections were reasonable. I love to go on a new trail and be challenged by a technical section that keeps you focused. I hit one rock garden descent (awesome) and when I thought I'd get a break to the tech, I come upon a rock garden climb that I wasn't ready for and to those of you who can make it up that section, my hats off to you. I feel there could be an improvement to the trail markings (difficulty, connector). I didn't ride the entire trail, but those areas I did ride I really enjoyed the trail. I would definitely ride this trail again.

Review: Drove an hour and a half just 2 weeks after my first ride to ride it again..it was better than the first time. This trail is super fast..super amazing. Very easy if ridden slow...more challenging the faster you ride it. Makes me dig for everything I have just to ride it faster. This is the benchmark of trails for me.

Review: Just rode this for my first time. Can't wait to go back even though it's a 1.5 hr drive for me. I loved it. No tough climbs, just fast and flowing. I had a few jumps/drops sneak up on me my first lap. Trail is very well maintained and they are currently adding bridges to cover the wet areas on the west loop. First lap was a little confusing. Could use better signage but with map in hand not to tough to figure out.

Review: Great trail! Very flowy, with a good variety of trails! Rock, dirt, jumps, dips, hills and switch backs. Main side stays fairly dry but the smaller side gets muddy but can be just a good. Good trail for everyone to tru out. Great lakeside views on the narrow trails, wildlife and even some good jumps. Well marked trails as well

Review: Fun trail suitable for all riders. Lots of short-cuts so any length ride can be made, This also make the trail a little confusing, but by the end of the second lap had it all figured out. Trail is one way so expert level riders can hammer if they want. Several 1-2 foot drops, and big roots to give the suspension a work out. Did 3rd lap in 50 min and broke a spoke.

Review: My wife and I love this trail. The green trail is very easy and very fast for those who love speed. The only complaint we have so far is the trails all seem to interconnect one another and they are not very well marked. We found ourselves on the advanced trail more than once because the trails are not marked at the split.

Review: Rode for first time on 7/26/09. Great trail, nice lake scenery and fast. Was not very technical. Directions on this site were horrible. Took us forever to find it. Better way is to take I-65N to Vietnam Vets to Rt 109 (right). Next exit get off and go straight thru light and you are on Lock 4. Take until road deadends. Park near silo.

Review: Great trail... I rode it this past weekend and loved it. It has some technical aspects for those who look for them and can still be ridden by beginners. Great scenery and lots of fun!

Review: I agree with the other postings. Great trail for everyone. You can make it more challenging by going fast. Or, if you're like me, it's challenging enough going at an average pace. Great scenery, too. Maybe, it could stand to have a few bigger uphill parts to get my burn on, but we're in TN. So, I'll take what I can get. And watch the spider webs too!!!

Review: I rented a Specialized Epic from Bikers Choice and rode Lock 4. It is a smooth rolling one way singletrack with some beatiful hillside views of Old Hickory Lake. The trail was hard, dry and fast. It was pretty well marked although there were some forks in the trail that were not. I had a map to help me out. Nothing very difficult, I would rate it intermediate, some decent up and down grades. I rode the loop twice and after an hour and a half of riding, the last couple of uphills were a good challenge. All in all, an exhillerating, smooth flowing scenic ride(a white tailed deer scampered of the trail right in front of me) that would please all but the hardcore, technical starved or downhill riders.

Review: This is a nice trail. Single and double track. Nice jump area hidden in the middle. The trail goes down by the lake for a nice short ride. Be careful as it dips towards the lake and you could fall and get wet.

Review: Lock 4 is extremely cool. If you ride fast, it become a technically challenging. If you take it easy, the trail is pretty easy. It is a series of several smaller trails all linked together. If you're not careful you may double-back onto some trails you've already ridden. This trail is seriuosly worth the drive from Nashville (about 30 miles) if you're thinking about it. there are pictures and more info at www.nashvillemountainbike.com

Review: I've have been riding there for over 4 years and haven't gotten tired of it yet. It have many things to enjoy. Usually not many people, nice lake, picnic area, model airplane runway, and especially the trails. You can make it hard if you go fast, and take it easy with new comers to the sport. It is perfect for all.

Review: A very nicely maintained, somewhat hard to navigate trail network. This area of TN does not have mountains, so expect no epic climbs. Not much distance to cover the entire network, something like 12 miles, but a very nice place to ride and get a workout. Trails are fast.

Review: One of my favorite trails. Very well maintained. Plenty of challenge with almost nothing life-threatening. A great place to take someone new to mountain biking but still fun for an experienced rider. I particularly like the moguls on the west side and the rolling table on the east. Those who know ask that we not ride this trail when it is wet. Lets respect that. If you are coming from far away (and I recommend it) have alternatives if this trail gets too wet.
