Description: There are several short trails in this area, most accessed from Lithia Loop rd (F.S. rd 2060) which is closed to motorized use for most of its length (26 miles). By riding up the road from Lithia Park or the White Rabbit TH you will intersect with 3 of these trails that cross this road giving different starting points for a shorter ride if you like.

Catwalk- 2 miles
Steep terrain, fast, lots of switchbacks, kickers, etc. The Catwalk trail comes to a T, turn L onto the Toothpick Tr. (R leads onto private land).
Toothpick- 0.8 mile
Follows the contour of the steep hillside actually climbing a couple hundred ft. Fast, Swoopy tr. Trail ends at the Lithia rd, Caterpillar trail starts across rd.
Caterpillar- 1 mile
Start up the right side of a small knoll and the trail quickly curves around the top and darts through the woods down a ridge on the other side. A fast, curvy trail over rolling terrain, switchbacks and a few jumps. Trail crosses the Lithia rd once more and then comes to an intersection with the White Rabbit Tr, turn L to continue on this route (R leads down the White Rabbit, a popular DH route), trail ends at Parking lot, Alice in Wonderland starts across the parking lot.
Alice in Wonderland- 1 mile
Wide but steep trail descending down along a ridge, rutted with big water bars. Fast but nothing technical. BTI is a left fork about .7 miles down from the top.
BTI tr- 1 mile
This is the technical cherry to end the ride. Dropping over 600 ft in under a mile there are many tight switchbacks, steep drops, kickers and loose granite. A lot of work went into constructing a fun ride here but the trail does not shed water very well so you can add a few deep ruts to the technical challenge. BTI comes out on Glenview dr near the parking area at Granite st.

Made a wrong turn at the intersection of Granite/Glenview but didn't mind cuz I got an excellent workout climbing 2000+ ft over 6 miles of fire roads. Then had fun coming back down. Next time I'll try not to miss the turn so I can enjoy the singletrack out there.

Best parking option is on Glenview, saving yourself over a mile of meaningless climbing on the paved portion of Granite Road. From here it is still 2 miles up to the parking area at the White Rabbit/Caterpillar/Alice in Wonderland trailhead. This is a good place to take a break. You will be sick of riding on the road by now, so I would recommend the following route: pick up the White Rabbit/Caterpillar trailhead on the left side of the parking area and follow it uphill to where Caterpillar branches off to the right. This is an easy, smooth and rolling bit of trail that will take some of the sting out of all that road climbing it took to get here. When the trail comes back down to the gravel road, cross the road and pick up Caterpillar again on the other side. This part of the trail is steeper, with some very fun rooty switchbacks, until it too becomes rolling before depositing you back down to the gravel road and the intersection of the Toothpick and Lamb Mine trailheads. Lamb Mine, which is on the right side of the road, is a very easy, short out-and-back that features a cool abandoned mine tunnel and a spectacular view at the end. Returning to the trailhead, you have two options: Ride Toothpick (on the left side of the road) out and back and call it a day, or grind up the gravel road for 1.6 miles to the Catwalk trailhead. The road is wicked steep, and I confess I had to walk about half of it, but the downhill on Catwalk is worth it. It starts with some steepish pitches through a rock garden, then cruises steeply downhill, with roots, tight switchbacks and a nice surface that encourages speed. Then, where Catwalk intersects with Toothpick, turn left on Toothpick and follow the recommended route downhill: Toothpick to Caterpillar, Caterpillar to Alice in Wonderland, then down on BTI, which has some of the best switchbacks I've ever ridden. Yes they're steep and tight, but beautifully bermed. Super fun section to end the day.
