Description: This island has more trees than anyplace else in the area. The trails here are a series of singletracks that cut narrow swaths thru the dense forest.The climbing is non existant,biggest climb is about 8 foot.What this trail has to offer is a slice of singletrack solitude in the heart of central South Dakota.Quiet secluded beaches practicly downtown.The terrain is packed sand to sandy soil.The trail swallows water like a drunk hooker at a sailor convention,you can ride in the wettest of weather here.I ride here every chance I get and I love the place.I suggest it to anyone needing to stretch your legs or get that "bike fix" in when you pass thru Pierre.
