Description
This park is shared between BMX and Mountain bikes. There are lots of technical challenges like narrow bridges, jumps, logs, & titer toters. Although its a small park there are many different paths to take and you won\'t get tired of it because it\'s always evolving.

Review: If you're in the area and looking for a quick ride this is the place, I would not drive more than 20-30 minutes to get here though as there are likely closer better trails. That being said, for those in the area it is a huge network of trails criss-crossing this way and that, given the limited space. Not a lot of features or variety to the trail, aside from the section of huge BMX jumps. Mostly single and double track with a few bridges and logs here and there. No real ups or downs. All-in-all pretty decent given the terrain and size of the park.

Review: Rode here for the first time this weekend and was pleasantly suprised. Its a completely different style of riding that is offered on the southwestern part of VA but is challenging and fun all together. I will definitely be back!

Review: I would not recommend this trail to anyone in the hampton roads area. There is alot of potential here but to sum up the park briefly its a place where kids go to smoke dope and party. There was griffitti in several areas, broken beer bottles in several places and not not mention the kids on Dirtbikes. Overall not a great experience.

Review: This was by far the best trail in the Virginia Beach area. That said it is only a mediocre trail. Trails and bridges could use some love last I saw, someone tore all the bridges out actually. Lots of jumps and terrain features suited more for jump bikes and BMX. Lots of flat terrain when you get away from the jumps

Similar Trail: If you are up for a drive, New Quarter park and Freedom park are better by far.

Review: this trail is the most technical in the virginia beach area. its good to work on your skills. could use a few more miles but if you go with someone and take turns leading around the loops there are a lot of different combinations you could do with some fun technical obsticals.

Review: This park is a hidden jewel. Easter Virginia Mountainbike Association is working with the city of Chesapeake in the Adopt-a-park program to maintain the park. The park is the cleanest it has ever been. If you haven't been on this trail in 2 years I recommend you give it another chance! The Tecnical Trial Features that were there years ago were removed by the city because they were poorly built and no one was repairing them. We are in the works of planning new TTFs with the city. We hold Trail clean up/building days Quarterly with a cookout after. Check for updates on EVMA.com and Facebook. See you on the trail!

Review: Its perfect for training, specially for beginners. Its my first time on this track with my 12 yr old son, my friend and his son. It's a little to easy for me and my friend but the kids love it.

Review: I rode this today. Needs some love and attention in some areas, but most/all of the trails are still accessible, and it was still a fun time for a beginner (my 4th ride in the area). Easy to stay occupied for a couple of hours. Lots of BMX dirt jumps, but all the manmade obstacles were torn down as stated earlier. There are some open sections that you can play around in where the dirt jumps are, and there are some tight (possibly overgrown depending on your definition) sections that can be fun if you get some speed going through them.

Review: Rode this trail for the first time today. Some parts are missing bridges and such, and trail is pretty overgrown, but there are a lot of trails in this small area. Sign said the trail was under repair, but saw no evidence that anyone had done any work in a long time. Not too wet even with all the rain we had.

Review: just rode yesterday and rode into an unsuspected disappointment....i have ridden this trail about 7 time before yesterday and when a started riding around, i noticed that all of the man made teeter totters, skinnies, and wooden ramps had been removed....every one! i dont know why but this trail is now nothing more than a flat unorganized waste of time....maybe someday they will be back:(

Review: Trails are extensive but it will take you a couple of rides to find a decent loop. I normally ride a 3 mile, 20 minute, loop that runs around the perimeter of the park on both sides of the power lines. The trails are flat with a few obstacles but are still fast and fun. Keep an eye out for broken glass b/c the kids obviously party in the woods on the weekends. Overall, it's a fun trail that's easy to get to from Rt64. * Review edited 4/11/2009

Review: Good network of singletrack, some of which parallels some extreme BMX jump sets. Not fully maintained and most (if not all) of the creek bridges (other than the 2 wide well built bridges) have just been let go. Overall, good place to build some bike skills even w/o elevation.

Review: although this trail is usually labeled as easy part of the trail are certainly not for beginners. In the area there are some really difficult jumps, narrow bridges and challenging terrain. People who don't feel like their ready for these obstacles shouldn't be intimidated because there are plenty of other things to do and you don't have to take on the difficult stuff to have a good time. On the down side the scenery sucks in this place, its muddy, small, mostly flat and there are no real "trails" just random loops of path leading from obstacle to obstacle. Overall this place is fun if you want to go after school and work on technical stuff but its not a great place to build endurance or take a long ride. Downhill fiends and fitness buffs will be sorely dissapointed but its still a great place to go goof off and hit jumps.

Review: i just rode this trail for my first time on Sunday, after riding around for about thirty minutes, i started to get my bearings and see all the connecting trails. And yes, there are balance beams, teater todders, and jumps. you could ride around here for hours and not go the same way twice. Overall it is a very simple, flat trail, except for some raised bridges and jumps. But the hidden glory of this trail is on the opposite side of a open grassy field. If you think the trail just ends, it doesn't, go explore and you will be rewarded!

Review: Although it's got some interesting obstacles, I was pretty disapointed with this trail. It just doesn't flow well. There's almost nothing you can get decent air on, and, my biggest pet peeve, is that after almost every obstacle there's no where to go. You can't keep any decent speed other than on the long flat sections. It's a decent ride if you like tackling obstacles at a snails pace. Oh, you irresponsible riders who like to litter all over the place. If I catch you I will run you over.

Review: Though this trail is listed as beginner friendly, it contains plenty enough uphills, downhills, ramps, bridges, roots, hanging vines, twists and turns to keep people of all skill levels satisfied. I rode this trail for the first time today and I was very impressed!

Review: First time I have riden in several years, it wasn't known as Indian River Park then but it is still about the same as I remember. There is alot of jumps for BMX riders in one central location but rest of the park remains for MTB. Will hit it again real soon.

Review: It is those BMXer's that help build this place (me included). I used to live back there in college park and moved away for a few years. It is now a city recogized park! Nice to see it built up. By no means is it a big place and some spots are overgrown, but if you are local VB or Chesapeake, it is definitely worth checking out!

Review: Took a while to find, BETTER directions to main trailhead (there are multiple secondary) is take Indian River Road exit west off I64. Go about .3 miles to Level Green Blvd @ Texaco Station. Follow .9 miles to Drew Drive for .6 miles, trail head is marked with park sign immediately after crossing Chesapeake / Va Beach city line on the right. Trail is a crazy network of single track through wooded area with a little double track. Would recommend a casual pace first time through to figure out the layout. There are BMX jumps everywhere, some pretty extreme, some major drop offs too if you didn't know where they were. About 4-5 teeters, and a few assorted obstacles scattered throughout. Lots of fun once you get your bearings and can pick up the pace. Some of the single track gets pretty narrow and is a little overgrown off the beaten path. There is a sort of central area for the BMX stuff. It had rained and some of the low laying areas were a little wet and jumps ended up in small 6 inch ponds. The park is divided by power lines and continues on the North Side of the clearing -- this where the other main entrance is. More trails along the same lines. There is a bunch of junk scattered around -- looks like kids (BMXers) don't follow the "leave only footprints (tread marks)" motto. Over fun ride once you know where you are. Not sure how crowded it gets with the kids around riding. Have fun!

Review: I heard titer totters and jumps etc and got very excited. When i got to the park there was nothing. I went around the park twice to even find a trail. Very disapointed. If you know the secret to unlocking this parks hidden glory drop me a line.
