Trail Description
About this trail
Great 4.0 mile loop around protected wetlands. Very rocky and rooty.
Overall not to technical but it has its moments. Great training loop to really
hammer it out. Other trails also criss cross the main loop trail. A few hill
summits make for some good quick climbs. The Ledge trail is a nice downhill
section geared for bikers, and the Quarry trail has a few nice technical
sections. Part of the property crosses one of the last remaining sections of
the Old Kings road, which was used in the 17th and 18th century by the
King of England to collect local taxes. Preserve trails were created and
maintained by the town of Merrimack and are heavily used by walkers and
horses on weekends especially so be cautious and courteous to fellow trail

Review: First time there and it was pretty solid. Nothing too groundbreaking but perfect to ride on your way home from work. Exactly what I had expected. Went with a friend and happened to run into a guy and chatted for a while and exchanged phone numbers, just a plus. Overall good experience.

Review: This is a great intermediate trail. The only problem is the BUGS!!!!! They killed it for me. Horse flies that hover around your mouth, nose and eyes. I must have hit it right after a hatch or something.

Review: So far, my favorite trail in the area. Marked and groomed well. Rocky, but not horrible. There are some neat features: couple of boulder roll-overs, a few bridges, nice water scene with beaver dam. The loop is a great quick run with some connecting trails that offer short climbs, flowy singletrack, and technical descents. Saw some horse activity (prints and poop), a couple or runners/hikers, and some bikes. Not crowded, even on a gorgeous weekend.

Review: Extremely well maintained, well marked trails. Watch out for the sand on the loop trail near the power lines. Lots of rocky terrain, very fun for a quick ride. There are more technical trails and some with steeper climbs if you get bored. Just a generally great trail for local riding, this about 5-10min down the road for me.

Review: Great trail! especially for the area. well maintained and not as rocky or rooty as surrounding trails are. can get a bit confusing and disorientating, so make sure you are familiar with the trail, or grab a map. Definitely a great place to ride in the area! Take the trails off "loop trail" for more technical and narrower sections. Heavily used as well, so keep an eye out for others!
