Description: This trail is named high point for a reason: it accesses the highest point in the trail system. The views of the top of the lake and the mountains in the background are phenomenal! Since it reaches the "High Point," expect the biggest climb in the trail system, and be prepared for the most technical trails as well. Still, compared to other popular trails in North Georgia and North Carolina, this is still pretty tame, but oh-so-fun!

TRAIL REVIEWS   review this trail

This is definitely the most challenging trail in the system with some actual climbing and descending, hair pin turns, and a few rocks scattered here and there. That said, it's not really difficult at all, but it's a ton of fun!

This trail, although very short, is a notably different shift from the other loops in the system and warrants it's own review. If you are looking for a bit of a technical and aerobic challenge, this section will give you a quick fix. It starts out with a quick 1/4 climb no matter which direction you choose to attack from. If you choose to ride it South to North, you'll get an opportunity to hit the rock garden in the downhill direction. At only 1 mile in length, I'd really like to see a bit more of this trail in the system but I also understand that the builders were limited by space. If it were longer it'd definitely get 5 stars.
