Description: Within the park itself there are about 10 miles of trails. Some is singletrack, some is wide, groomed pathway. This network of trails is ideal for the beginner in that there are no long or steep hills, and it is technically easy. Having said that, it's still a fun place to ride for people of all skill levels due to the adundant wildlife present there, and the beautiful scenery and wading beaches.

At the east end of the park along the river there is a trail that runs 3 miles upstream ending just below the Dexter Reservior. Follow the dirt road to the right, then the paved road through one of Oregon's premier disc golf courses to arrive at the Dexter Dam Park--a nice facility with a swimming dock, and bathrooms.

It's back open, but call ahead durind winter weather.

The section of this trail that goes to Dexter Dam is dangerous and closed right now due to sudden, unannounced water releases from the reservoir.

This is great trail for beginners. My kids love it because they can ride almost every bit of it on their own, and there's a new surprize around every bend of this criss-crossing trail system. The trail between the two parks is a little more challenging, but still a beginner-level trail. It has more rocks, roots and at least one water crossing. Beautiful scenery and lots of animals: elk, deer, turtles, frogs, snakes, salamanders, beavers, lizards, eagles, etc. This trail doesn't seem to get much use, and it has good visibility, so I tend to ride it rather fast. Three miles up and 3 miles back is a pretty good workout at that pace.

Similar Trail: Paved trail at Dorena Reservoir.
