A lot of people bash this trail as being too easy or not technical enough...but it you hammer it as hard as you can...it becomes more fun and challenging. I ride this once or twice a week after work. It is NOT TECHNICAL...but it is still better than the sandpit (JD...unless of course it has rained for four days straight), closer than Halpat in Stuart (one of my favorites in the area!) and Ft Pierce. I like to run the outer loop first, climb the hill (great workout) and then run the outer again. Here is a link to my latest ride...feel free to download it from Garmin and beat it (and post your time...give me something to shoot for on my next outing). http://connect.garmin.com/activity/129093317#.TsQMlBNR6MM.email* Review edited 11/16/2011* Review edited 11/16/2011

Rustynuts is right on - the HILL trail is a cardio blast-off, but the outer wood trail (~3 miles) is pretty easy with little technical stuff to worry about. Overall though, it's still fun for us locals.

I spent a week visiting family in Wellington and this is one of the three trails I rode while there. This turned out to be my daily ride. I am grateful that there are places to ride in south florida but my goodness they are just aweful. I found Dyer and Quiet Waters to be the most enjoyable. It is what it is and (flat and sandy) and that is better than nothing.

Good place to build your leg strength and wind but not real exciting for a MTB rider looking for technical.

Great trail to hit after work with plenty of shade for those summer days. Get worked on the grass hill trail then cool of in the shaded perimeter trail. Go back to the truck, chew on some mixed trail nuts, rehydrate, then grab the fishing rod and catch some bass in the lakes in the park. Then maybe Bed Bath and Beyond with the wife.... maybe Home depot if you have time.

Similar Trail: Pinehurst and JD

Trail Description:
This trail is located at the site of the old landfill as has 2 distently differant trails. The first trail is located on a hill the trail is about 3 miles long and winds up and down the hill all the way around it. The second trail is a single track trail that runs around the permeter of the park there are some technical off shoots from the main trail this trail is good for the novice/intermediate. There is also a paved road bike path as well as a fire road/equestian trail that is gravel

very fun trail, the "hill" trail is a certified ass kicker. it's great for an aerobic workout. all ups and downs and switchbacks, fairly nicely maintained. the perimeter trail, a fun, easy ride. A few rooty sections, but are still manageable. a fun free-ride section after a good rain.

Perimeter Trail: Moderately technical singletrack w/ some twisty switchbacks. Mostly hard packed sand and a little bit of loose sand. Some sections allow you to get some speed and crank out some turns between the trees. Some rooty sections, but they are manageable. I was told that after a rain the southeast section will flood but there is a dirt road bypass. This trail is about 5 miles long. "The Hill" Trail: This is a really fun trail because of the ups and downs. You can get some good speed going downhill and the uphills are a great workout. The "hill" trail is about 3 miles long. Last, but not least, the trail crews are building a 4X course at the north side of the trails.

The trail is cool because it's not crowded. It's fairly easy with a few difficult areas. If it has been raining alot, there are a couple areas with water up to your shins. Make sure to bring plenty of water and your lungs due to the South Florida heat and humidity.

Came for the trail around the landfill. Poorly maintained/under used. Found the perimeter single track by chance (no signage) and was pleasently surprised. Easy but just enough roots, slight inclines and switchbacks to keep it interesting. Not for the hardcore but I will go back if in the area.

Decent trail with alot of recent improvements - an excellent afterwork ride and the "hill" is in plans for makeover. Once hill is done this park will have some elevation runs and a nice shaded single track running around perimeter.

This trail isin't the greatist but dosen't need to be bashed so hard. I like it b/c you can do the perimeter and also the hill for a good workout. People have been maintaining it and added some bridges. I think people in our area need to hold onto any trail they have before it turns into more homes or shops.

Why is this park even open? I don't ride a bike but like to use the park @ the south side to eat my lunch and sometimes engage in photography, but you are not aloud to park anywhere. I was parking on the access road along Haverhill Rd but they stopped that by posting for horses only, even though I have'nt seen a half dozen in the six+ years I have been going there. So I park under a one of the trees that line the road leading back to the RC airport, but today a park ranger ( the first I've ever seen in all the years I've been going there) told me I can't park there because I might damage the grass. I'd say the guy driving the Johndeer, mowing the so called grass (short weeds) would be doing more damage then I could ever do in parking for 45 min a day. I pay to have it I help pay to maintain it and now I help pay for some ranger to ride around in an air conditioned jeep and tell me I can't use it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PICTURE!!!!! Darrell Close it down turn it back into a landfill.

One of the worst trails I have ridden in Florida. Not worth the trip to get there

one of the worst trails florida has to offer. too many washouts if it rained. and no flow to the trail.
