Description: Cutler Park is a maze of trails around some pristine marshlands. The trails are mostly singletrack with a few planked areas to go over the wetlands. As you enter the trails from the parking lot, keep going right and it will bring you out into the main trail network. Just keep exploring and you will find some great fast loops. Everytime I go I find more trails.

Fun ride out and back. Cutler is a mix of fireroads and singletrack that bring you through a gentle up and down singletrack that you can really fly on (as long as you dont run into dogs or hikers). Versatile enough to keep myself entertained bombing around at speed and not too technical that the GF couldn't keep up. The marsh bridge had some flooded sections and could probably use a repair in an area or two. after the tunnel you have some narow reeded paths that abruptly end unless you want to link through millenium park across the RR tracks or doubleback on the road. best to just turn it around at this point in my opinion.

Prime fast fall riding here right now. The wet spots you expect to be wet are wet, but everything else is firm-packed, bone dry, and lightly covered in dry leaves. Riding on 11/11 was immaculate and ripping!

Had a blast here, was great for my SS 29er. Be careful of people walking on the singetrack and dogs.

Great training or after work ride. Also good for clearing out the cobwebs.

The trail is riding nice and fast with the ground freeze - no muddy spots, pump track has firmed up (although someone built a fire pit in the track...)

Rode the blue heron whole loop once. Got some fun parts but the first half is the best. Random lil pump track several miles in was a nice suprise. Also explored singletrack along highway. Some real nice sections, swoopy and tight. A few drops and along the highway a couple sharp hills but nothing technical. A few nice natural drops and some cool boardwalk riding. Definitely recommend it.

New boardwalks are great. This time headed right out of the parking lot and was happily surprised at the trails... very rooty (almost mini logs!!) and you get some up and downs as you hug the highway as you go - keep your speed up as with every down there is an up, and sometimes they come at you around a blind corner... fun fun fun. Made it back around the Blue Heron... found trails to make the road ridding much less after Millennium Park (ride the parking lots of the businesses on your left as you come out on to the street - the path will re-enter the forest eventually.) Pump track was a bit sandy - might be fun to hit after some damper weather.

New boardwalk on the Millenium Park side of things from NEMBA, as well as additional boardwalk on the way to Plumber's Island. A small piece of field is starting to have some skinnies developed from riders working on technique - not bad!

FUN and FAST. Nothing technical - but it's a nice change of pace. Good place to go and just fly. First time riding here and did the Blue Heron trail - good first half, but soon you pass through a neighborhood, paved path to millenium park and roads back to Kendrick St. - so may be better to ride it as an out and back rather than loop. Will certainly be back to explore the number of trails off the Blue Heron. I'm giving a 4 just for the fun factor

Cutler can be tied together through the Kennedy Farm and Millenium Park for a very enjoyable 10+ mile loop if you know where you're going. Many NEMBA guys are happy to lead a ride here, as the trail is fast and fun to make a good ride out of!

Trail next to 95 is fun, as is the little loop when you cross over the bridge and marsh-type stuff. Nothing technical at all, and that loop is sort of like a race track, fun to fly around because it's so smooth. Good place to work on improving speed

NEMBA and the DCR have both been doing some work here, and the trails are benefitting from it. Though there is more bike traffic, the dirt is becoming very hard packed with well-defined walls that are perfect for fast riding - the singeltrack along 95 before you get to the loop is OUTSTANDING!

This is a terrific trail, specially for beginners. The trail is fairly smooth, extremely well maintained, and lots of fun. Try to stay on the main single track after the fire road off the kendrick st. entrance. Mostly bear left until you hit the first boardwalk, keep going until you pass the tunnel, then, keep going till the next boardwalk. You and your friends will have an awesome time while still encountering a moderate amount of technical sections.

I went for a ride on this trail today in the rain. The trail was slippery but fun none the less. To get to the best trail turn right on the fire road at the parking lot and follow it into the woods. Then take your first right and there you will find smooth, fast, flowing single track with some technical parts. Watch out for the stream that covers part of the trail about mid way through that I took a swim in. It looks shallow, but it drops from 2 in to 1.5 ft suddenly. (It could be there only when it rains though.) Overall a great ride, and a hidden gem in the Boston area. I will be riding there again as soon as possible. Maybe in the sun. lol

Still a blast to ride, and some good trail maintenance has been done. There are more people and dogs than previously, so keep your eyes open ahead of you on the path, and please be sure to say hi to people to keep good relationtions with the locals!

I went down the "blue heron" trail today; it starts out in Cutler and winds through Millenium state park and another park as well. Beginning is nice, quite varied trail, not too technical, but beware, soon you'll find yourself biking on busy roads just to get to another park.

Kept running into a group of old people with a ranger guide and they kept ants in their britches every time I came across them. Lots of people slow you down, when they're not around, some fun singletrack. Best area is off to the right, next to 95 - there's actually hills there, singletrack, less people and you can get cruising, kinda short though

Take a left out of the parking lot around the pond. At the end of the pine-needle road, go straight into the woods, over the bridge (or through the drop). Ride this until you hit rocky single track, then stay on that until you approach a downhill where you can bear right or left. Go LEFT into the boardwalk and enjoy some stellar riding!

The rains in MA have been awful for some trails, but Cutler has held up very well, thankfully! A word of warning, though - there are 2-3 big trees down where there didn't used to be, and you come up on them VERY quickly, so keep your eyes peeled. 4th of July morning ride there -- met a couple of other riders, talked to most of them about Singletracks! Cats outta the bag, though - this place used to be a secret! :)

Cutler park is in a mind of its own. From log drops in trees expanding over beatiful bogs to amazing singletrack that would make you think your in Colorado. Cutler Park is a have to ride if It is full of sweet singletraks that you can pump while at rthe same time thare are insane downhills and climbs. When i'm in Cutler Park i get lost and go in to a dreamworld. If you live in MA you have to ride Cutler Park. If you don't ride Cutler Park you wouldent know the singletraks you would be missing.

Does anyone know what that big metal and cement thing is at the entrance to the singletrack/ bottom of the loop next to the marshland? I feel like it's the bunker from "Lost" or something...

This is a great local trail. As some have mentioned you don't need to worry about following the markers because you can't really get lost. You can use the river, train tracks, and 128 to get your bearings from pretty much anywhere. If you park at Kendrick St. in Needham and head right around the pond and stay as close to 128 as possible there is some great technical riding and hills about a mile in.

I do have to comment that sometimes you want to ride, sometimes you want to exercise, and sometimes you want to SHRED. The fast loops here are the best shredding I've found in the Boston area, mostly due to the lack of rocks and roots, which is completely atypical in this neck o' the woods.

This is a pretty sweet little complex of trails. It can be easily accessed by heading LEFT out of the parking lot behind 60 Whateveritis Street and through the gate next to the water. Follow that to the split in the trail and take a left to access the singletrack network easily, or go right out of the parking lot behind the building and then up a sharp climb into a 3 mile singletrack that takes you there. Alot of FUN to ride! Rolling smooth singletrack, not many rocks, some wall rides, drops, jumps, boardwalk... can't wait to go back and explore more!
