Description: The beginning of this trail is flat and follows Kelsey creek for a mile or so. This is a good warm up for the hills that come. This is a network of 20+miles of singletrack that has been built and ridden by a handful of ex mtb racers. These are very challenging trails that consist of logs, jumps, and hills. This trail system is harder than anything in SC. Very little signage, if you have a gps, go to motionbased and enter dairy ridge or croft passage for routes.

I would have to rate this on the easy side of intermediate. Fun ride for any skill level. For a beginner rider there are a few spots that would create a challenge. But it is worth riding for sure. If I lived in the area I would ride pretty often.

Trail was pretty awesome...went today and rode mostly on the Southside Loop. If you want more jumps, downhill, fun type stuff, try the Lizard Trail. I rode with a guy that showed me it and I loved it. Make sure you bring plenty of water and something to eat, because it can definitely take a while. But it's the most fun I've had in a while. Except for blowing out my front fork haha

Similar Trail: Haven't ridden anything else yet

I had a really bad experience here yesterday when I lost the Southside Loop trail, had to backtrack and didn't make it out before dark. The trails are not marked with paint on the trees but with small, square metal signs that are not placed consistently at all. Given the time of year, there are leaves everywhere and they are covering the trail, making visibility more difficult. The trail is not worn down very well if at all in some places, which adds to the problem. Allow yourself plenty of time and daylight to get out of here if you go. I had a map in my pocket and there are maps on the trailheads but it doesn't matter if you can't stay on the trail. I was on these trails for over two hours on a Friday afternoon and never saw a soul, so that may explain why the trail is not beaten down.

The Croft Passage is a network of trails that consists of hills, jumps, logs, and thirty plus miles of sweet single track.

Similar Trail: Ride down West Stone Mtn/Rocky Ridge in Dupont.

I saw the palmetto trail on mtbr and figured I would give it a try. I showed up on a tuesday at 5:30 and met a group of bikers that took me on a seventeen mile loop that was unreal. I love this place. The trail varies from easy to extremely difficult. Everyone should definitely give these trails a ride.

Similar Trail: Dupont

Rode this trail last saturday. All I can say is wow. I usually ride Issaqueena or Paris Mtn. Man I will be making the drive to Spartanburg more often. The trail system that branches off the Croft passage is better than anything I have ridden in the Upstate.

Similar Trail: I also ride Issaqueena and Paris Mtn.

When I first arived at Croft State Park, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Boy was I surprised!!! The trails are great! There is a little of everything, mainly moderate to extremely difficult trails. This place is part of Croft State Park. I only gave this State park trail a 4 because of a lack of accurate maps. The maps show about 20+ miles of trails, they are wrong. There is at least 30+ miles out there. 1/3 of the trails are unaccounted for on the maps. Be carefull, it's fairly easy to get lost. I have been at this State park almost a dozen times and have not ridden the same trail once! I'm serious! Again, keep in mind that the maps that they provide are not accurate. They will only provide you with a general idea of the Park's layout. Trails split off every which way from the main trail making it difficult to distinguish the initial trail from the new alternate trails that are available. It's almost like a a maze to some degree! I really enjoy coming here because of the solitude. I rarely see anyone on these very clean trails. These trails are no picnic. This place isn't for those who are looking for a joy ride. Be expecting a tough ride, just you versus the trail.
