Description: First anytime you ride anywhere in Coe expect grinding climbs the beginning of this ride is no exception (in summer heat in excess of 100F are to be expected). This is a 2 hour ride depending o your fitness. From the gate the trail is a dual track fireroad initial altitude gain of 300 ft, drops 200 and then begins a 1200 foot gain climb, great views but not much fun. As you top out another fire road breaks off to the right, Wasno Rd, take a break and get ready for the descent. Follow Wasno Rd a short distance (less than 1/2 mile), an unmarked single track will be visible to the right of the fireroad, this is the beginning of the fairly moderate single track Pond Trail. Stay on this trail past the pond through the forest and up a moderate climb (100 ft gain). As you top out keep going straight(the trail off to the right is a grinder that takes you back to Coit Rd). This section is a fun fast single track through the forest that crosses a creek and brings you to a dual track go left, some rollers brings you to a fence line stay on this side of the fence (the trail wants to take you through the fence but...). Let the fun, fast, and technical Grapevine Trail begin. Eventually you will come to a small mucky pond (keep an eye for the feral pigs) and a dual track. For this ride you stay to the right down the hill back to Coit and back out of the park. The option I usually exercise is from the pond I go left at the dual track up the hill to pick up the single track Anza Trail. Anza follows a moderate climb that intersects with Jackson Trail and begins another fun descent back to coit. Have fun and remember if you get trouble in Coe you'll be a long time waiting for someone to find you so be smart and go with a friend.
