Rode the trail this weekend, just after a light rain the day before. Was going to start at the east landing, but there were two giant spider webs covering the trail entrance, which I figured was due to this entry being less used, and after the huge ones I saw at the pay station I decided to go to the main trail head (south) because there would be more bike traffic/hikers. I would recommend waiting until summer is over to do this trail and when it has been dry for at least a week; there were so many spider webs with giant palm sized black & yellow spiders. Also, miles 1-5 have some ridiculous rooty climbs that are close to impossible to stick when they are wet. Not an enjoyable experience today, will wait until winter time to go back.
