Description
These are multiuser trails managed by the city. There will be many hikers and bikers out. Use cation. Some parts of the hill are private property. There are several routes to the top and around the base. The back side has jumps, drops, etc. Control your speed on the downhill. If you ride it, consider joining the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers to make sure the trail stays open and stays maintained.

Review: By the way we were on the trail that is outlined on this map: http://wikimapia.org/16081/Cerro-San-Luis-Obispo zoom in and look on the west side (or left side). it is in and out of the red box. I wasn't sure if the box signified where we could and could not be, but either way you should not shoot at three girl hikers!

Review: Does anyone know if the West side of the mountain is open to the public me and my two girlfriends were hiking out there tonight and someone was shooting a gun, a bullet hit the ground right in between us. We yelled at them to stop shooting, they yelled back and shot ten more shots, as we ran into the trees for cover. The sherriff told us they were shooting squirrels and they were concerned that we were trespasssing, we were on the upper trail that faces the barn and there are no, no trespassing signs. The sherriff actually was very unhelpful and suggested we don't use that trail anymore and seemed to believe their story that they didn't know we were there even though they were shouting, and shooting at us.

Review: Please be aware the majority of San Luis Mountain is private property. The property owners have been very generous in allowing nearly full access to multiple trail users. PLEASE respect their property. DO NOT under any circumstances cut fences, climb fences, make new trails or leave any gates open. Failure to care for this property will jeopardize opportunities for access. thanks!
