Description: Capitol View Park is a 150 acre park in Frankfort with softball fields, soccer fields, picnic areas and a basketball court. Surrounding these areas are a great network of trails for the beginner and experienced rider. The trails consist of mostly tight twisty singletrack, a few creek crossings, a fireroad, one downhill section, two whoop-de-do sinkholes and some jumps. The trails are mostly hardpack, with some small rock, gravel and gra**ections. Trail conditions are usually good but rain can make riding slippery for a few days. This is a good trail for riders in the Lexington/Frankfort area. Nothing very difficult but it is a fun ride. The is a good climb and a few nice downhills. I would recommend this for a afternoon ride.

Very fun trail. It's short, but you can spend hours riding different sections and loops. Great for beginners and for experienced riders just wanting to go balls to the wall for a couple hours.

Similar Trail: It's the kiddy version of LBL's Canal Loop.

Pretty good trail. It is a beginner that I think that some more experienced riders would still have fun on. There is a couple of sections that are fun to blaze through. There are some good views of the capitol. It is a bit short. I say this with the utmost respect for my fellow riders but what everyone is calling "sink holes" are not. They are steep declines. Sink holes are a different geological phenomena. Either way your first time down be careful because the natural line of the trail on one of them might put you into a tree. It is worth checking out to see if you like it.

This is my home trail and where I leared to ride. It has a little of everything. There is technical and some nice twisting singletrack. If you go to top of the trails by the archives there are some pretty fast trails. They have redone some of the trails at the end of the upper/archives and the connecting trails that go from the upper down to the river. Overall this is a great place to ride with nice established trails. Just beware when it rains it gets pretty soupy ***Update. Since I last posted there has been major revamps on the trails and several new miles added. (12/21/09)

WOW! What a beautiful park. However, bikers should beware!!!!! My husband and I took our 14 &11 y/o daughters to one side of the park, where we thought we could teach them how to climb steep hills on their "motorized" dirt bikes. We'd seen others do, and there was no posting against it. There was a fellow mountain biker up there who went NUTS! I mean totally psycho. approached me after THROWING his $1300 mountain bike on the concrete road in a very threatening manner. He called the Frankfort police, to clarify the use of the trails, which by the way we weren't using... EVEN THE POLICE THOUGHT HE HAD SOMETHING MENTALLY WRONG WITH HIM! I have video of him. If you need the video for identification, email and I will gladly send it to you. RIDERS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!! HE IS DANGEROUS!!!! Even the girl that was riding with him stated how fearful she was. Of course, we laughed about it ALL the way home. It was a PRIME example of the type of character we teach our daughters to STAY AWAY FROM!!!!!

Similar Trail: ANY/.... JUST BE VERY CAREFUL.

All information on this trail was written by Scott Cropper and came from the KYMBA official website. It was completely plagiarized to get the word out and maintain a consistency in content. Please visit their site for trail maps and other great information. Fadeto

Good mix of flat non- technical trail mixed with some interesting downhills. The sinkhole is awesome...

Correction on the Exit number...should be Exit 53. My apologies.
