Description: The first trail system designed and built by the Cape Fear chapter of SORBA. Surprisingly natural varied terrain for being only about 2mi from the Cape
Fear river. Has some nice views of the wet lands that are near the trail.
Also it is only a short drive from downtown Wilmington and Blue Clay
Mountain Bike Park. The trail is only open during park hours which is from
dusk to dawn and there is a gate at the entrance so there is no night riding
here. Not to far from the trail head is bathrooms and a shelter with a huge charcoal grill. Our intentions are to make this the best trail system in
coastal carolina, as such it will be under constant change. Initial
construction on the trail began early Dec 2010.

I rode this trail Sunday 10/29/2011. This is a very awesome trail, however it is very confusing. I was not sure where the trail started until a found a weathered sign behind some tree limbs. The trail started out great until I got to out to the first clearing and the trail ended at some water. Even a couple that I met with was very confused. I did find a loop around the clearing but was almost covered with weeds. I then found a a trail leading off into the woods. This area was a lot of fun. But when I got back out near the road I didn't know where to go next, I have to follow some tire tracks to find the other path. This happened twice. I also have no clue where the trail ends. Nothing is labeled making it a pain to find out where to go next. This track is very speedy which I love!!! I would recommend this for other mountain bikers but for first timers I would recommend going with someone that knows the path on your first time.

Similar Trail: Blue Clay Road trails. This area is great for leg strength but it is very rooty.

So far 1.4 miles is all we have of trail but we plan on being some where around 5 when done. We have been using everything the IMBA trail crew taught the club when they where here last year. There is a lot more natural elevation change then Blue Clay. Brunswick county also wants us to put in man made obstacles and jumps. As soon as the county approves the next loop we will start building it.
