Technical benched 11km/7 mile one way single track that continues on from the end of the Big River 4WD track. Expect to experience a challenging range of surfaces from mud and corduroy to mixed flowing sections and smooth, gentle downhill. Continue traversing through beautiful beech forest before reaching the gravel road that leads to the historic town of Waiuta.
A short, warm-down, circuit of the township will give you a sense of what life was like for the 600-strong population in its glory days, before it was deserted in the 1950s.
