Description: Great network of trails on private resort that lets mtn. bikers use their trails for free. Be sure to check in at the gift shop, and get their free map. The 16 trails range from tough singletrack, to curvacous singletrack, to doubletrack. There are no really long, strenuous climbs. This is a multiuse trail system, and the resort caters to horse riders. They make a point to tell bikers to yield to horses. Trails are well marked and mapped. You can tent camp there for $25, or stay in a cabin for more.

TRAIL REVIEWS   review this trail

I give this trail a 3 because it has great potential but has been poorly maintained over the years. The wide double track was beautiful and smooth for most of the climb, but from there things got a little sketchy. There were fallen trees EVERYWHERE, making for a very frustrating ride since we had to jump off our bikes every few hundred feet. One stream crossing was a little hairy, with two logs stretched across a rushing river: one for you, one for your bike. And then, at the end of the trail, minutes from where we had parked was an unavoidable river crossing: 40 or 50 feet wide, waist deep, freezing cold and moving fast. It was late and we were tired so it was hard to approach this unexpected crossing with a positive attitude, but if you're up for an adventure this is your trail! Bring the bug spray, I got eaten alive every time I stopped for a breath....

I did a mountain bike race here and had a great time. It was my first race and the course was a little sketchy in places, but it is beautiful and fast, too. If you are interested in the race it's held every year about the first weekend of September and is put on by the CSU cycling team. There is singletrack, short track, and downhill. www.ramscycling.com

I rode here Memorial Weekend and still only saw one other trail user - a mtn biker. Nice trail system that's adjacent to Roosevelt NF with a variety of trails for all skill levels. Climb Cabin Creek Trail (doubletrack) to get the climb over with, and decend another trail. I rode Cabin Cr. Trail -> Trappers Trial -> Ute Tr. -> Trappers Tr. -> North Fork Tr. and was wondering how I got so much downhill off of a small climb. Ute Tr. was sandy in a few spots. Mix of open and forested terrain. Well marked and mapped.
