This is an outstanding 22 mile long forested singletrack trail connecting the west side of Port Angeles to Lake Crescent. It is currently a segment of the larger 60 mile long Olympic Discovery Trail. While not technically difficult it requires stamina to ride for extended distances on the trail. The trail is quite scenic, with views into the Olympic Mountains, Mount Olympus, Lake Aldwell, Salt Creek and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It is a flow trail where grades average eight percent or less with quick downhill runs, switchbacks and excellent dry running surface. You should be prepared with water, tools and pepper spray (in case of cougar encounters).

Review: My 13 yr old son and I rode this from mile 12 down to the end. You can skip a lot of the sustained climbs, by starting where the trail crosses the Joyce Access road and then head west.

It is amazing. I only wish I lived closer so I could ride it more and really get to know the trail. We rode from mile 0 to around 4...a lot of up hill but it is so beautiful that I didn't mind.

Single track that goes from dark tree areas to meadow type with the grasses and bushes around 5 ft so it kinda masks the track.

Review: It's well worth it as long as it's clear for the views. ..I give the views a 5. We started at Crescent Lake (spruce railroad trail) and followed the Dnr roads until it broke off into a single track trail that hugged the side of the mountain with killer views of the straight of Juan De fuca. Made it to mile marker 17 and turned back ..I give the trails a 3.5 gradual up and downs easy to fallow..All in all great work out and fun ride. ..

Review: Sweet buttery singletrack with lots of switchbacks. Loved every minute of it! Saw a Cougar in the trail....so be careful and carry pepper spray just in case. Beautiful scenery and very fun! The trails are very well mantained, marked but I didn't see a map of the trails.

Review: The Adventure Route is one of the best mountain bike trails in Washington. It is long, fast, fun, scenic and travels through wild country. Check out the route on the olympicdiscoverytrail.com web site.
