Description
Open quarries left behind from former limestone mines now comprise 10 miles of Florida's most well-known mountain bike trails. These trails are by no means for the first timer. Outrageous downhills (for Florida) and lung-burning climbs make this a very popular destination. Admission is $3.00 per day.

Review: A very technical but epic MTB trail! When I ride at Croom & Santos I used to always head over to this epic MTB trail in Brooksville to do some serious shredding! If ya don't have the skills for this MTB riding, do not attempt it, you will get hurt. There are very steep drops and some serious steep short uphill climbs. Tooooo bad that it is CLOSED, but they are hashing it out to get it re-opened (red tape). Keep you updated!* Review edited 9/28/2008* Review edited 9/28/2008

Review: The climbs are very difficult and some parts impossible. There is no set trail with quite a few parts grown over or washed out. Yes, the downhill sections are technical and fast and very intense for Florida, but they are very short and definately not worth the enduring climb after three or four times. If your in the area, you should try it out for only three dollars, but I would stongly suggest against making a trip out of it.

Review: This is a great place to get a taste of riding on rock in Florida as it is in a rock quarry. great climbs both short and long with some good downhills. A great place on the Florida West Coast.

Similar Trail: Hardrock in Ocala but smaller

Review: For all you thrill seekers, this is a DISC GOLF course and not a place to mountain bike. Go to Belleview...there's trials located there.

Review: Trails are as steep as you can get in Florida. The directions are wrong!

The easiest way is to take 50 West to State road 484. Turn right and go about 5 miles to Cooper Terrace. Go 1/4 mile to the first drive on your right. This is the property owners house. The existing directions bring you in from the opposite direction. They should read take 50 to Brooksville. In Brooksville take 41 north 1/2 mile to Mondon Hill road. Turn right on Mondon Hill road. Look for Cooper Terrace on your left about 1 mile down. The trail head is located at the first drive on your right. The property owner charges $3.00 to ride. (The land also functions as a frisbee golf course.) (For the record Mondon Hill road is state road 484 at least from the Brooksville side.)

Similar Trail: Carter Park in Lakeland. The downhills are not as steep but the trails are more challenging.
