From the city of Los Osos, just follow the main road through town to Montana de Oro state park. The road dead ends at the park. Parking at the horse camp, follow the dirt road through horsecamp. Go about one mile up fire road. Trails have marker signs off right side. The east ridge trail is at the end of the fire road.
