Pros: Heavy duty--build quality is above reproach. Very light weight on the helmet. Remote is nice and the ability to see what you're recording.

Cons: Since the Contour HD, this cam is no longer top of the heap. VIO needs to upgrade this to HD.

Recommendation: Get the Contour HD for better pic quality. However if your priority is quality, bullet-proof construction then the vio series is your cam.

Pros: Comes with all you need, simple setup. I found the video quality excellent and sound not too bad given the high winds, etc., while mtn biking.

Cons: No feedback on remote - such as when the unit errors and shutdowns. Remote was not reliable enough to use, it needs feedback to know its really recording.

Recommendation: With their new wider angle lens it takes pretty good downhill video which you can checkout with the nifty viewfinder. Most (all?) other solutions don't come close to the frame rate/resolution of this unit.

Pros: simple all-in-one-box solution (at first). Wonderful specs (on paper). Sounded like what we have all been waiting for!

Cons: Poor video quality and even worse audio. Remote is useless. Attractive specs (and reviews?!) but once in hand you will be most disappointed.

Recommendation: Only good for folks who are scared of technology or too lazy to shop options. Ease of use is the only redeaming feature.
