Island Lake is relatively shallow and offers excellent ice biking with your fattie. The ice is always super thick and there are plenty of ice fish huts and anglers to help you gauge the safety of the ice. This picture always makes me smile -- I love the shadow of the bike.

Riding the snow-packed boardwalks looks easy, but it's tough work. The trails are well packed by dogwalkers and hikers, so it's a great place to fat bike. And it's even better if you have studded tires -- you can ride the lake and circle the fish huts!

Sometimes it's worth stopping for some fun, especially when you've gotten lost in the woods. There's something about climbing a tree like a little kid that fixes everything ... and in this case, affords a view back toward the right place!

The South Outlier is well-packed by snowshoers in winter, giving fat bikes a solid singletrack for speed. The trail follows the edge of the Niagara Escarpment and affords a good workout up the long climb, swoopy and turning trail, and stunning views.
